Mazda dealers are taking orders now for this new special-edition Miata, with a starting price of $36,250. The 35th-anniversary Mazda MX-5 Miata will be limited to 300 cars in the U.S., each available only in Artisan Red Metallic with a tan interior and beige top. Customers will get a special leather key fob and an invitation to an event.
The 2025 Land Rover Defender Octa sets out to prove that 626 horsepower can make anything better. The Octa's engine is a BMW-sourced twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8, which produces 553 pound-feet of torque (590 in launch mode). With the right tires underfoot, Land Rover claims this snail-fed box will make it up to 155 mph. The 60-mph mark should arrive in less than four seconds. Ground clearance is up 1.1 inches, and the track is a whopping 2.7 inches wider.
The Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid returns, this time as a two-motor series-parallel hybrid with a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine and a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery. No fuel economy is available, but we reckon it's at least 35 mpg, which amounts to some 580 miles of range when combined with its 16.6-gallon tank. When it debuts in the fall timeframe, the hybrid SUV will be available in three trim levels: Premium, Sport, and Limited.
The fourth-gen 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed brings a major upgrade in acceleration. There’s no longer a W-12 under that hood, but instead a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 paired with an electric motor that packs 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. The previous Continental GT Speed reached 150 mph in 18.1 seconds while the new Speed hits 150 mph in just 14.9 seconds.
If you’ve been sitting around thinking, “Boy, I sure wish the smart and well-spoken crew at Car and Driver would record some new Window Shop shows for 2025. I wonder why they haven’t already?” Well, we did record one. In it, Editor-in-Chief Tony Quiroga attempts to organize the crew with a straight-forward challenge of picking a new car for Hearst Autos senior content and social media strategist Michael Aaron, who needs a car big enough to haul that job title around.
Ford is calling attention to the Mustang's rich racing legacy with a special variant of the Mustang GTD called Spirit of America. The special edition of the 815-hp muscle car debuted at the 2025 Detroit auto show and features special racing stripes and carbon-fiber aerodynamic elements. While no production figures were provided, we suspect the Spirit of America model will be offered in even more limited quantities than the standard Mustang GTD, which itself is already extremely exclusive.
Honda revealed two new prototypes for its next-generation 0-series EVs at CES 2025. The Honda 0 SUV sports a clean, sleek look and will enter production in the first half of 2026. The Honda 0 Saloon is a tweaked version of the radical Saloon concept shown at CES 2024 and is due in late 2026. Would you like to see these on the road?
Mazda’s iconic little roadster received a light styling refresh for 2024 that includes new exterior lighting elements, a tweaked grille, and new wheel designs. A new 8.8-inch infotainment display replaces the previous model year’s 7.0-inch screen. All Miatas with a manual transmission receive a new limited-slip differential. Tweaks to the car’s suspension system and power steering system are said to improve handling. Mazda also adds some new driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control and a rear-automated emergency braking system.
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro presents a new technology in the cabin to help make the drive smoother. Toyota calls it the IsoDynamic seat. At a glance, the “air chair” looks like a set decoration, a strange contraption built to make a starship’s command perch appear suitably futuristic. But there’s method to this apparent madness. Think of the IsoDynamic seat as a seat within a seat. The cushions rest on an inner frame that attaches at two points to an outer frame (which itself mounts to the vehicle body).
We took the plug-in hybrid Lamborghini Revuelto on a long drive on a twisty road. The mid-mounted 814-hp 6.5-liter V-12 is naturally aspirated and screams up to a 9500-rpm redline. Of the three electric motors integrated into the powertrain, two drive the front wheels, while the third is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The total output of this powertrain is 1001 horsepower, the most of any Lamborghini ever.
We’ve been lucky to have a car like the Mazda MX-5 Miata available to us for so long. The little roadster has been carving curvy roads for almost 35 years now, and even today it remains one of our favorite cars to drive. Now in its fourth generation, the Miata has evolved significantly and is quite different than it was in the 90s. We grabbed a 1995 NA Miata and a 2024 ND Miata to showcase the differences between them. Which generation of the Miata is your favorite?
With LED lights getting cheaper every year and plenty of social media posts showing off how elaborate home holiday decorations can get, it was only a matter of time until people started putting strings of lights all over their cars. Modern lights don't draw power the way Clark Griswold's decorated house did, so there's no danger of causing the neighborhood to brown out in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation–style or melting your car battery into acidic goo. All you need is some tape and an inverter to plug into your car's auxiliary power outlet, and suddenly you've got your own parade float.
