Australian garage rock band Dirty Liars, who is Ian McDirt (guitar), Mandy Moo (vocals/bass), Ben Woods (Drums), has unleashed their new single “Nightmare,” built around the idea of parallel worlds. As Dirty Liars explains, “Around the time we formed the three piece, the concept of an alternative reality was a never ending topic of discussion between Ian and Mandy, who both had very separate and dissatisfying personal lives.” Both band members were going through separations at the same time, which they call a “disturbing repeating nightmare that had to be endured knowing that one morning, both could wake up to a new dawn.” Dirty Liars is expected to release more singles throughout 2025.

“it's right there in the title,” says [SAMPLE_TEXT] explaining the meaning of the title track off of their latest EP 'Fear Everyone.' “I fear everyone. I think a lot of people fear everyone.” The EP sees the trio, composed of Reece Caldwell (vocals/guitar), Tyler Farrell (drums) and Jacob Marsh (bass) putting together different recording techniques. As they explain, “I have sort of stopped worrying so much about recording methods. Some things (as art) need to either be hi production, nice crispy sheen, and some need to be trash garbage recording, they say. “This is our new outlook, and the EP has (literally) a mix of both.” 'Fear Everyone' is out now.

On “in my dreams,” Cincinnati-based artist/producer Ruben Dumars is afraid of becoming someone else. According to Dumars, the song is “about the fear of changing.” The synth line acts as a temporary sign of hope, slowly descending, climbing back up, before we end up at the same place. The 3 minute song expertly blends lo-fi, psych rock and dream pop. Listen now on the playlist 'the faves.'

Bloomington artist Twice Dark, has released the second single off the upcoming album 'Telekinetic.' The song “Invisible Man” is about feeling unnoticed. It’s about facing the fact that whatever difference we make while we’re alive is brief. Weaving goth rock, industrial, Italo disco and dark wave, Twice Dark takes inspiration from the tragic splendor of decaying industrial spaces of Indiana. 'Telekinetic' is out in 2025.

UK indie rockers The Assist have dropped the title track off of their upcoming album Disconnections. According to the band’s vocalist Mikey, the song is a reflection of modern society. “A never-ending demand for ‘bigger and better’ in all walks of life has ultimately led to the most rewarding of experiences being disregarded and undervalued,” he says. “Our gauge as to what is and what is not important anymore seems out and there is a real lack of gratitude that is being shown towards life and what that naturally encompasses. That artificial dopamine hit that is so accessible at the end of our fingertips is proving to be the biggest threat to our understanding of worth as we become desensitized to daily highs that we now call mundane.” Disconnections is out in 2025 and is now available for pre-order.

Australian art-pop project The Only Objects is getting ready to release their second album 'An Excess of Hauntings.' Their new single “Access Will Be Retained” was inspired by band member Patrick Lang’s encounter with the digital words on a sign during his drive home. Developing the song led to the way Lang envisioned the album. “After our last record, I was trying to reconcile what I saw as a contradictory impulse to write songs that were both personal and conceptual,” he says. “Until one day I realized that the contradiction is the point – the conceptual is personal, and vice versa. As the song developed, it ended up being a statement of intent for the whole album, which explores our obsession with promised lost futures that never arrived and surviving in permanent states of crisis.” 'An Excess of Hauntings' is out next year.

On his third single, French bedroom pop artist Adam’5 looks ahead with optimism. As he explains, “[‘I Don’t Know Where I’m Going, But It Can’t Be As Bad As Where I’m At Right Now’] was written at a time when I felt everything was falling apart.” After reading an interview with Tyler, The Creator, Adam’5 felt reinvigorated enough to continue pursuing music. The writer/producer will be releasing a 5-track EP titled 'PROLOGUE.'

Scottish post-hardcore/emo band Palejoy has released their new single “I Bet Heaven Isn’t Real At All.” The song was written after guitarist/vocalist Dale suffered the loss of his grandfather. The themes of “sadness, anger and self-loathing” are underscored by distorted guitars and thunderous drums. Palejoy has already sold out their own headline show and we couldn’t be more excited to see what’s next for the band!
