In this episode we dive deep into this 52 week Live Light Painting project and what it takes to make it across the finish line. Hosted by legendary light painters Gunnar Heilmann and Dan Roberts Hack The Light we breakdown my creative process and a few images along the way. In the SEASON 2 Finale, we get to see me in the hot seat as Chris Bauer orchestrates a podcast takeover diving head first into my creative process. We begin by taking a journey back in time to when I first found light painting, through various techniques and photos along the way, and finally some future opportunities to teach this art form to many others. I am so grateful for all who have supported this project, those who have participated and taken the time for us as a community to come closer together. A heart felt episode full of laughter and insight.

I named this episode SAT CHIT ANANDA which translates to SAT (that which IS) CHIT (that which is CONSCIOUSNESS) ANANDA (that which is BLISS). It is the celebration of existence and a message I try to hold close as often as possible. It is the fundamental force in my creative process and self expression through this beautiful art form called light painting. My addition to the Spotify Playlist is Alan Watts "Dream" which I highly recommend listening to when you're feeling creative and expansive. ✨🎶

EPISODE 13: “Visions of Beyond” featuring special guest Mart Barras from Brighton, UK. 🇬🇧 An amazing photographer and light painter, we dive deep into Martin's advanced creative process especially involving multiple lens and tripod swaps during a single exposure. From stencils to 3D printed props, and homemade LED wands, the creativity in his art is boundless.

I named this episode "VISIONS OF BEYOND" because this style of photography truly is a portal into unknown realms where literally "anything is possible." In the winter months to come, I envision practicing and creating with this style of photography to expand my artistry and consciousness. A wonderfully insightful episode full of laughs and good fun. STAY TUNED for the Season 2 finale where I get thrown into the hot seat by the legend himself Chris Bauer.

EPISODE 12: “DREAMSCAPES”

In this special episode we get to sit down with talented photographer Pedro Real , a stunning story teller and artist who resides and works in Madrid, Spain. One look at any of his images one can quickly understand the quality and effort he and his valued team members put into the artwork. A special thank you to our interpreter Eva Torres, for doing a fantastic job translating this episode so both English and Spanish speaking communities can listen in and participate.

I named this episode "DREAMSCAPES" because every image Pedro creates is straight out of a fairy tale or fantasy. From elaborate costuming and make up to the location and lighting, one cannot get swept away into another world when gazing at his work. It was an honor getting this time with Pedro and understanding more about his creative process and team. I am excited to see more of his images going forward!

In this episode we get to sit down with Trevor (TDUB) Williams who is regarded as one of the Godfathers of light painting. We travel over a decade back through time to the early days of light painting.
Originally from Canada, Trevor now calls Okayama, Japan home. There, he explores the natural landscapes, creating one-of-a-kind light paintings with sea fireflies and light fireflies, and as a professional photographer. Trevor embodies the phrase "you don't take a photograph, you make one." And Trevor shares how he made some of his great ones, bringing his personal magic and prowess. It was the greatest pleasure to get some time with someone who has had such a significant role in what we enjoy today.
This episode is named "Glory Days," in honor of Trevor's contribution to the early days of the light painting art form.

In this unique episode we defy the language barrier to get some quality time with Ivan Lucio Boluda, an amazing light painter from Madrid, Spain 🇪🇸. A big thanks to Tom Hill for providing the translation between English and Spanish. I’ve been wanting to have this conversation with Ivan for a long time, and am grateful for everyone’s patience and courage to make this interview possible and make this episode more accessible to the Spanish-speaking community. As we dive deeper into Ivan’s creative process we learn that its important to stay patient through the journey and focus on one specific goal. This is Ivan’s secret sauce. From miniatures in the studio to otherworldly sets and sold-out futbol arenas, Ivan and his talented group are an inspiration.

In this episode we get to travel to the ancient city of Rome to visit with the beautiful and talented Maria Saggese. An ambassador to Light Painting Brushes and Air BnB experience host, Maria is one of the best in the community at sharing this art form with so many people and bringing out their inner light.
I named this episode “La Vida Bella” because when you share this art form with so many people your own personal aura starts to grow into a beautiful space around you. Maria channels this in her art and her life leaving everyone she touches in a state of wonder and enlightenment. ✨💚

In this episode we get the chance to sit down with DEE LIGHT , an amazing calligraphy light artist based out of NYC. We talk about the trials and tribulations of light painting in the city as well a full review on light painting calligraphy and the determination and grit it takes to make it.

I named this episode “CLOSE TO HOME" because once you meet DEE it doesn’t take long to start to feel like family. Although many miles apart , when I think of our time light painting together sure hits Close to Home in my chest. Counting the days until we can create together again . 📸✨🔦

I named this episode “Feathers of Our Fathers” because the wedge-tailed eagle 🦅 means so much to Ben, and I know his sons and wife see him as that. My Dad has a connection to the Red-Tailed hawk and so the title “Feathers of Our Fathers” is dedicated to all the Father heroes amongst us.
