The midday sun beat down on Beardsley Street, its rays glinting off the windows of the shops and cars that drove by. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter and conversation, and the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air. The door to the tattoo parlor opened, and a blast of cool air hit the street. A young woman stepped out, her arm wrapped in a fresh bandage of a just finished tattoo by Maxwell Borchardt. A group of friends sat near the outside large window of the sober bar coffee shop, enjoying their drinks and catching up. They were all smiles, clearly enjoying each other's company. This was Beardsley Street, a place where people came to relax, be creative, and connect with each other.
