As business owners and salespeople, the question is usually “How do we increase sales?” We should know by now that spamming people on social media does not work, and this is due to the lack of personalization and authenticity in those types of messages and emails. In order to connect with your customers and get them to buy from you, you need to get to know them, establish trust, and sell to them in a unique way that speaks to them and their buying style. This can be time-consuming when done right, but what if there was a tool to make this process easier and faster? Amarpreet Kalkat has created software that does just that.

Amarpreet Kalkat is the CEO & Founder of Humantic AI, a Buyer Intelligence platform for revenue teams. Sales teams and business owners use Humantic's Personality AI to identify early adopters, help personalize outreach, and enable their team with vital customer insights for every deal. A lot of salespeople make the mistake of making sales interactions about themselves, but in reality, the conversations that convert are those in which the focus is put on the potential customer and their needs. With Humantic AI, the goal is to give you the blueprint for who your customer is and how to talk to them, leading to trust and a major increase in conversions.

Business owners might not start their business with the intention of selling it at some point, but in reality, all businesses should be run as if they will be sold later. You never know if your circumstances will change, or if your goals will change over time, so running a business as if it will be sold later on, is a very smart move. In this episode, I talked to Jessica Fialkovich all about what goes into selling a business, and why all businesses need to be “sellable.”

Jessica Fialkovich is an exit expert, speaker, small business advocate, and award-winning business owner. She is the founder of Exit Factor, and is also the co-owner of Transworld Business Advisors in Colorado, Dallas, and Las Vegas. Jessica is an entrepreneur at heart and successfully built and sold two startups, along with her husband and business partner, Al. With Transworld, they run the business brokerage firm that does the most M&A transactions annually for small and medium-sized businesses. In this episode, David McGlennen shares his journey into entrepreneurship, and how he helps leaders become more effective and influential.

David McGlennen is a business growth guide who helps leaders build companies that people line up to work with. He shows those leaders how to integrate their desire for high performance, achievement, and growth while focusing on the things they value most. As an entrepreneur and family business owner for most of his life, David has learned that growing a company means growing and leading yourself first. He has coached and trained leaders around the world as far north as the Arctic Circle and has shared the stage with John C. Maxwell while training leaders.

There is a part of ourselves that is largely responsible for the choices we make and the actions we take each day, yet most people are not in tune with this part of themselves. That part is our subconscious, and it controls 95% of our brain power and handles everything we need to function properly. Our subconscious also wants to keep us safe and tends to repeat the same ideas we have been programmed to believe, but sometimes these ideas are doing more harm than good. Today’s guest is on a mission to teach people how to reprogram their subconscious.

Taking on a leadership role can sometimes bring responsibilities and issues that you may have not previously thought about before. What if a great amount of these issues could be solved if you understood just one idea? That’s what today’s guest is here to share with all of us.

Esther Weinberg is a business growth accelerator that equips executives in high-growth industries to create big pivots, big impact, and big returns. As the founder and Chief Leadership Development Officer of The Ready Zone, she powerfully fast-tracks an organization’s progress by focusing on the six zone performance indicators that are necessary for growth. Esther's innovative strategies have assisted clients to grow, scale, and thrive in the best of times, and also in the worst. Esther has worked with companies like Netflix, NBC Universal, Microsoft, ESPN, Warner Bros discovery, CNN, Dreamworks Animation, Adobe, Disney, IMAX, and national geographic.

In this episode, Esther takes a deep dive into the problem that she has seen over and over again in multiple companies- communication, trust, and respect. A lot of us may think we are already great communicators and don’t need help in this area, but taking on a leadership role involves a level of communication that many people are not aware of. As humans, we are “meaning making machines,” as Esther and Eric discuss in this episode, and we are always wanting to extract meaning out of everything we encounter. Being aware of this and taking responsibility for our actions and words, is the first step to creating an environment where psychological safety exists, and that is the key to a thriving company culture.

New episode out now!

One of the three pillars of the Human Experience is to lead, and today’s guest is an outstanding example of what true leadership embodies. LTC Oak McCulloch spent 23 years in the Army and held numerous leadership positions in the Infantry and Armor branches. He assisted in disaster relief operations for Hurricane Hugo in Charleston, SC and Hurricane Andrew in South Florida. He has also held instructor positions at the US Army Ordnance School, the US Army Command and General Staff College, the Australian Command and Staff College, University of South Alabama and Stetson University. During his most recent position in the Army, he spent 3 years as the Professor of Military Science at the University of South Alabama where he led the training and commissioning of Lieutenants and tripled the size of the program.

Oakland retired from the Army in September 2009 and joined the staff at the Bay Area Food Bank as the Associate Director. He left the food bank in December 2010 to become the Senior Military Science Instructor and recruiter for the Army ROTC program at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. In October 2013, he became the Recruiting Operations Officer for the Eagle Battalion Army ROTC program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he has more than doubled the size of the program. In 2019, Cadet Command selected LTC McCulloch as the top recruiting officer, out of 274 others. He received thirty-one military service awards including the Bronze Star, eight Meritorious Service Medals, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

In today’s episode of Lead, Sell, Grow: The Human Experience, Oakland shares his experience in the army and the many lessons he learned about true leadership along the way. While many might think that being a leader just means telling others what to do, Oakland emphasizes that leadership is about people and that being a servant leader is what it is all about. People need to know that you have their best interest in mind in order for you to be able to lead them, otherwise you will end up with people that might get work done for you, but passion and motivation are the key pieces that are lacking. Tune in to hear all about Oakland’s insight on how you can be a truly effective leader that people want to follow.
