Admitted Insurance Carriers VS Non-Admitted Insurance Carriers

Admitted Insurance Carriers 📝
Admitted insurance carriers are licensed by the State Department of Insurance or insurance commissioners where they operate. This means that these insurance carriers comply with their state’s regulations. The state also verifies their:

Policy forms
Rates
Requirements

On top of this, if the admitted insurance company fails, the state’s insurance fund will help make payments on claims if needed. This guarantees coverage for your business.

Non-Admitted Insurance Carriers 📑
Non-admitted carriers do business through wholesale brokers in states where they do not have insurance licenses. This means they aren’t required to follow the same state regulations as admitted carriers. It also means that if the insurance company fails or becomes insolvent, the state would not step in to make payments on claims. However, non-admitted insurance carriers are regulated by the state surplus lines office.

Monday afternoon thoughts - Remember when insuring your property, to know the difference between your appraisal value and your true replacement cost. These numbers are very different. To many people want to insure their property at its appraisal value. This is underinsuring your property.

Your appraisal value is your properties value in the market (what it would sell for) 📑

Your replacement cost is the value it would cost to rebuild your property in the event it needed to be rebuilt from the ground up. (debris clean up, building materials, labor cost) 🛠

Hint hint, always insure your building to its true replacement cost. 🏢

Proud to add another "feather in the cap" so to speak. I have been accepted to be on the Board for Guardian and Protective Services, Inc. The work Scott Bernstein and his team does is incredibly important to our state and community.

What is GAPS? How do individuals receive help from GaPS? Are probably a few questions you might have.

A variety of agencies refer individuals in need to GaPS including hospitals and nursing homes, ND Vulnerable Adult Protective Services, human service centers, social services, and other entities. GaPS often serves as a safety net for at-risk individuals who may need assistance but are unable to get the help they need on their own.

Every donation is incredibly impactful for Scott and his team, to be able to give their clients the best care and assistance they need. Even something as small as a recurring $10 a month donation makes a big impact. Something you can set up and just forget about. That's at best one less Starbucks coffee a month 😉 You can also make one time donations as well. Lets be be the support system that so many need! Any questions, feel free to reach out!

A quick friendly nudge and reminder:

With the forecast calling for some really nice high heat days soon after this round of snow, a quick melting process is more than likely coming from this nicer weather.

Make sure to check your sump pumps are in working order! Along with your discharge pipes being clear from obstructions. Also, try to get as much snow as possible away from the house. This water could end up in the basement if your not careful. We have already had claims come in on these simple fix issues.

Wanted to share a few updates, I have earned my first career designation as a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist. A lot of hard work went into earning this designation, and I proud to have accomplished this.

The second update is, I have been accepted into a Producer Development Program through State Auto Insurance Company called The Pacesetter Program. This is a proud moment as well for me, as only 48 agents across the nation were accepted into this program. I am the only producer from the state of North Dakota that was accepted.
