The Grand Wash is a short relatively easy trail in Capitol Reef National Park. The trail winds through towering sandstone cliffs, colorful rock formations, and has tons of cool features eroded into the walls. This is a point to point hike that can either be shuttled or hiked out and back. We only had one car, but didn't want to hike the full thing twice with Zoey, so I ran back through the canyon and picked up the car while Zoey and Hailey played in the sandy dirt.

Distance: 4.7 miles round trip (2.4 one way)
Elevation Gain:. 314 feet

This was an amazing day! Birch Hollow is a canyon just outside of Zion National Park, which exits into Orderville Canyon and then continues all the way to The Narrows in Zion. The rappels in Birch Hollow were super fun, and the towering canyon walls in Orderville were spectacular.

This amazing trail is in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area. The trail was dry when I hiked it, but depending on the time of year and weather, there are sections that flow with water that you can swim or wade through. The waterfall wasn't running when I hiked this, but it was still really fun.

Distance round trip: 11.6 miles
Elevation gain: 1,023 feet.

This was one of the funnest technical canyons I've been through. My favorite part was the super long rappels, with the two longest being 300ft and 260ft. Landing in The Narrows on the final rappel was very refreshing after hiking and canyoning through the desert. Zion National Park is an amazing place with so much to explore!

The Mossy Cave & Waterfall Trail is a short easy hike in Bryce Canyon National Park. We had a lot fun walking in the river and seeing the waterfall. The mossy cave definitely is better in the winter but we still enjoyed looking at the informational plaque about it.

The Queens Garden to Navajo Loop trail is one of the most popular trails in Bryce Canyon National Park. There are great lookout spots from the top of the loop, and then you get to hike down and around hoodoos and amazing rock formations.

Round Trip: 3.1 miles
Elevation Gain: 649 ft

Sand Hollow Reservoir is a state park in southern Utah. The water was really high when we were there so the cliff jumping was lower than it sometimes is, but it was still really fun. The water is pretty clear so you can snorkel around the red sandstone rocks and see fish. There are sandy beaches here as well. The park also has boating, paddle boarding, and a scuba park.

El Choyin river is a thermally heated river in La Fortuna near Arenal National Park. This was one of our favorite hot springs we've ever been to. The entire river is warm. There are lots of sectioned off pools with rock walls for soaking/relaxing in. The hot spring access point is just off the side of the road.
