Happy Pride Family 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Celebrating Pride can mean a rainbow photoshoot, merch and parades.

Even more importantly, it should mean protection for all LGBTQIA+ people and that’s not always pretty. We are fighting for representation ALL YEAR. Yes we’re a little louder this month, but let this always be a reminder that we are not a fully protected class.

Our rights continue to be attacked on state and federal levels. This isn’t our fight alone. So please enjoy all of us living out loud but also remember us when you’re voting locally. When you go to your doctor, remember the many who can no longer get their medicine.

If politics isn’t personal to you, consider yourself lucky. That is a privilege but not a universal truth. It takes nothing to learn about our struggles and work together for a better tomorrow. 🙏🏾

Thank you x for inviting us to the Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort.

Disney went all out with three days passes to Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and food vouchers because you know we are foodies!

The girls are practicing for their Christmas performances.

Ain’t Nuthin’ But a 3 Thang Babyyyy

Yesterday was beyond amazing. We have such a dope village that came out and celebrated Holland’s third birthday with us.

Afterwards we had an after party at the house and it reminded me so much of my grandmother. I grew up running around her house with my cousins. There was always food, drinks and of course cards lol. Those moments really make me believe I carry her with me.

I am so appreciative and humbled by our friends and family who drove, flew and braced Atlanta traffic for us. I love y’all deep. 🙏🏾

Harper has been in kindergarten for a couple of weeks now and she has already had projects and tests.

Thanks to , we will not be caught off guard! I made the girls an activity cart for their homework, playtime, and future projects!

Harper was so excited when I surprised her with the cart that she spent the rest of the evening drawing and studying!

I was able to grab this cart and all of the supplies for less than $100!! You can shop our activity cart and more in our bio.

Happy Friday! Do you have a three day weekend?!

The girls and I plan on having a pizza night tonight. One of our favorite pizza spots is !

Holland had her first cold of the season and of course she spread those germs to me. Thankfully no fever just a sore throat and body aches.

On Monday we will either be crashing a party or grilling ourselves.

One of my favorite things to do with my family is have a movie night 🎥.

Now we typically can’t get too far into the movie because your girl Harper likes to talk OUT LOUD.

Tonight I am making a dinner charcuterie board and praying we are able to get at least half way through without any meltdowns or tantrums 🤣.

They really do grow up so fast 🥹.

I was very close to my brother growing up so I prayed for the same for my babies.

Now they do bicker ALL day long but Harper Avery does not play about her sister!

I have also caught them talking about us!! As long as they are bonding, I guess I get it 🤣.

Harper is starting Kindergarten this year and we’re stepping up our Back-to-School style with ! She will be changing classes throughout the day and walking down the hall in classic shell top adidas shoes.

I love how I can dress my children in the same classic styles I wore as a child. With a mix of cool and comfort, I think Harper already won best dressed!

Ahead of Pride month, let’s have a little chat.

I get often asked from my straight friends - “how can I help the lgbtq+ community”

First is recognizing that the “community” is not a monolith.

But something that can support all of us is talking to YOUR family.

Yes, even that grandfather that is just “too stuck in their ways” to learn.

One statement that absolutely sends me “well this gay stuff is just so new”.

Naw. That shows me your lack of willingness to even conduct a google search about the history of gay rights.

What’s new is the visibility.

Talk to your children. “But children shouldn’t learn about sex”

Your quickness to immediately minimize lgbtq+ relationships to “sex” is a HUGE problem.

No, I want you to talk to your children about love and respect of others who do not look like them or love differently than them.

Lastly, vote in all elections. The changes occurring right now are scary. You think this doesn’t impact you until your child, sister, mother or uncle is gay.

Let’s stop voting just when the issue has proximity to us and let’s actually vote for equality and equity just because it’s the right thing to do.

Being my friend (oh I love gay people, my friend is gay) does not make you radical. It does not make spaces safe. It does not bring about a change. Let’s have some real conversations.

Have you ever dressed sexy and been told “but you’re a mom…”

Baby YES and I am still a woman!

As a Black woman, I feel like our bodies are the topic of conversation very early in our lives.

I spent the majority of my life being top heavy and my breasts being the topic of conversation.

Now it’s dressing “too sexy” for a mom.

I am hoping we get to a point where we no longer comment or judge women for their bodies.

Do you feel like you have to show up differently after becoming a mom?
