In the role of safety pilot I was blessed to catch a great sunset as and I flew southwest from Durant to Mineral Wells. Kevin unfortunately had his eyes locked on the panel. On the way back he told me about the full moon to the east and lightening show that was play north over OK City that I didn't get to see. It was a great flight. The first of hopefully many more as we get our hood time in. IFR here we come.

I was able to do my last flight this morning to get my Complex / High-Performance rating! Now I need to put in hours and continue to gain proficiency. So excited to check off milestones.

I had such a great flying day with my brother, , yesterday. He's putting break in hours on his top end so we just flew around.
We left 7F3, Caddo Mills, and made a fuel stop and oil check at KASL, Marshall. Then with no destination in mind we began to wonder a bit further east until I thought about a place my wife wanted me to see called Hilltop Lakes. So we set course southwest to 0TE4, Hilltop Lakes, a community that has an airstrip...golf, lakes, pools, stables, tennis, and more. Since it's a private airport we didn't land.
Instead we set our nose on F44, Athens, to top off fuel and another oil check before heading back to Caddo Mills.
Thanks for letting me ride along!

My brother Russell, , and his wife Kim in his Cessna 140 and me in a Cessna 150 took a quick trip to Cedar Mills, 3T0, on Lake Texoma.
They have a great 3000ft turf airstrip that is just a short walk from a waterfront restaurant, Pelican's Landing. They are on winter hours currently so check times before you go.
We enjoyed flying up and checking things out. On the way home we flew a loose formation so my cameras could get a few shots of Russell's plane. A video will come out soon with regular posts to follow.

I really enjoyed flying the Cherokee 140 this morning!
I left Caddo Mills, 7F3, and flew North to Lake Texoma State Park, F31. Just enjoying the flight and logging a little XC time.
While I was there I met TJ and learned a lot about his Vans RV10. That plane is now on my "watch list" as Renee' and I decide which plane will best meet our mission...one day down the road.
I feel blessed and thankful to get to fly.

has a Cherokee 140 now and I had fun today getting checked out in it with , Nekoda.
I really enjoy the low wing airplane and how much fun this one is to fly. Not going anywhere very fast but I'm used to that already.

What a great day! Renee' and I rented a C150 and flew with my brother Russell in his C140 to Jacksonville,TX, KJSO. We drove into town and got a bite to eat then headed back to Caddo Mills, 7F3.
I'm looking forward to many more trips with Russell in his plane and one day Renee's and I in one of our own.

There were two Crow's in a plane.... I had a great time flying with my brother today in his Cessna 140! I needed to look at a job site and he was thankful to fly with a real mission lol. I was also lucky enough to be with him for his first grass strip landing and takeoff.

In this continuation of my very first flight with Nekoda at Dallas Flight Center he has me move into slow flight. I remember how much my hand would sweat on the yoke...to the point where I would sometimes wear a golf glove so the yoke wouldn't be so slippery. I would concentrate so much that I would forget to breath...though I rarely forgot to smack that gum in my mouth. It's funny for me to think back to that time not long ago and now I don't sweat at all...well that is until we start talking about entering Bravo airspace. Then I start reaching for the glove....

It was a beautiful morning to do my long solo cross country. It was a great flight! I had a great time. Though securing flight following was a point of anxiety for me. It went well and I'm ready to go up again. I'm hooked! Oh and I have passed my 40 hr mark today.

Had a great time today in Midland TX doing landings at KMAF Midland International. Got some tower talk on and I was back to sweaty palms again! So we would come to a full stop on the run way and since there was no traffic tower would just have us back taxi and take off. FYI if your instructor says she has a student pilot and requests an actual taxi back while your on upwind, they have your entire pattern to figure out how to give you a tour of the taxiways! Good times seeing MAF from a pilot's point of view.

I was scrubbing through footage from lessons and took a picture of this shot. I really like this under plane angle. This angle has helped me understand what is happening under the plane when I'm landing and that visual along with great instruction, , has led to better landings.
