If youโre looking for the perfect way to prepare for Easter. Start with Reading through the Gospel of John with Fr. Mike Schmitz. It takes 7 days with the Bible in a Year podcast with your @hallowapp (not yet a sponsor) So if you start today, you can wrap up by Easter!!
This happened as an accident the first time when I was doing the entire BIAY and the seven days led up to Good Friday. I decided that would be my new Easter tradition.
Lent has been tough this year. Itโs a busy time of year and I havenโt been as dedicated to Lenten observance as typically like to be, but I know this is going to set my heart right before we celebrate Easter on Sunday.

Hereโs the story of how two hours waiting in the ER became two hours of quality time I spent with my son.
This is time I wouldnโt have had otherwise. Iโm glad I was able to make the most of this time when I had the opportunity.

"The first thing I want parents to understand is that ADHD is a ๐ง๐๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ ๐ข๐๐จ๐ก๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐..."
- The ADHD Dude
...because [ADHD] stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Well, thereโs lots of people with ADHD
๐ฌ๐๐ค ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ and [โฆ]
almost everybody with ADHD
on things that are interesting to them.
The way that I try to help families understand ADHD is that it is Their executive functioning is 2-3 years behind their chronological age.
This fundamental shift in how we define ADHD sets the stage for an interesting conversation on the latest episode of the @Docs2Dads Podcast, which you can find on your favorite podcast app or at the link on the Docs2Dads page.
We talk about executive function skills that are affected by ADHD, how to support your kid with ADHD at home and advocate for their needs at school.
My newsletter for this episode will come out on Monday - which will include a blog post about three types of executive function skills most affected by ADHD.
You won't want to miss it, so head over to docs2dads(dot)com today to sign up for the newsletter.

Don't raise a Gaston who only wants to see the pictures.
Start reading to your baby in the first few weeks.
Here are the best things about reading to your newborn baby. ๐
1. Bonding time
Dads sometimes struggle to know what to do with their babies at this age anyway. Holding baby on your chest and reading to them gets them used to your voice and teaches them to settle when they hear it.
2. Give mom a break
In those early days, moms constantly have baby attached to them, especially if they are breastfeeding. You taking baby for a few minutes to give her time to catch a shower or nap will make you the hero of your own Disney classic.
3. They don't care what you read
You could read a boring technical report that you have to read for work or the latest epic in your favorite fiction series. It doesn't matter. They just want to snuggle you and will learn from just hearing the language. Read in multiple languages if you want them to learn the cadence and pitch of different languages. They'll be singing "Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour" before you know it.
Did you think reading to your newborn could be so useful? What other perks did you find when you spent time reading to your baby?

As June turns to July, it feels like summer is starting to slip away. This year I am determined to make the most of the time I can spend with my kids as my oldest turns four.
This is our last summer before he starts school in the Fall.
We only get eighteen summers with our kids before they are grown and out of the house. We need to be intentional with the time we spend with our children and summer is a great time to do that.
- Playing at the park
- Splash pads and pools
- Long weekend getaways.
There's so much to do if we bother to make the most of it.
This week, I cover ways that we can make the most of our time during the summer with your wife and kids.
Our community is here to help you:
