This week was....interesting, to say the least.
I try as much as possible to mind my words because I understand the power of the tongue.
So I replace the negative thoughts with gratefulness and awe of the wonders of God. I’m believing that my days are already better. My God is bigger than all the problems of this world.

On the weekends, we clock in at our second job!
People often times wonder how I’m able to juggle working full time as a teacher and being a stylist, among all the other things that I do. Honestly, some days I don’t know how I do it. I can only be God.
Being a stylist can be stressful, from sourcing the clothes, going back and forth with clients, fittings, loading and unloading everything that is needed. One thing that I learned instantly is that comfort is the number one priority.
You will more than like catch me wearing something nice and stretchy, my sneakers, and my F***y pack. has definitely made comfort and fashion a good thing for me. Cause Lord knows the last thing I’d want to do is be in some super tight clothes while I’m running around catering to my client.

Ending the month of love with a bang!
With Consistency and peace, I mean.
The month of love may be ending, but that doesn’t mean we should not carry love in hearts. Not just for others, but for ourselves.
I made a promise to be more consistent with my goals and do what needs to be done to achieve it. However, I am not and will never will be the minister of stress. I’m beginning to be more loving towards myself and not give myself such a hard time when I don’t get to everything I need to do.
So now Saturdays are the days I look forward to!

Alexa play Survivor by Destiny’s Child
Honestly, when the snow came I was excited because I was going to be able to stay in the comfort of my own home and knock out my to do lists in my nice warm home office, drinking my tea, making my eggs, and having my Aquaphor chapstick on DECK!
Little did I know that Texas was going to have me wanting to audition for a role in the show Survivor.
No heat
No electricity
No internet
No water
Just straight SURVIVAL
Here are some things that have actually saved me during these times.
1. Heat warmers: I bought these bad boys for places like New York. I NEVER would have thought these things would save me in Texas of all places. Smh
2. Overnight bag (packing in the dark is no joke).
3. Power bank: Have it charged each time the electricity comes on.
4. BLANKETS: Cause whew chile !
5. Gloves
6. Flashlight: Not just from your phone.
7. Lighter
8. Candles
9. SNACKS and food that can be heated quickly.

This month of love is not just limited to this specific day. At the end of the day, it’s just that. ONE day out of 365 of those day. I’ll save you guys that speech of not limiting yourself to the 14th to spread love.
However, I will say this.
Live, laugh, and LOVE every day!
If you watched my stories, I talked about finally reaching a point in my life where I’m totally content with my life and who I am. Not because of what I have attained (because that feeling of achievement seems to never end), but because I have realized that as God is, so am I! Do you know what that mean?! God’s love has truly changed my life. That’s the ultimate standard of how I measure my value in this life.
I love the lane I’m in and I’m grateful for this race I’m running. Not for anyone else, but myself.
My value is in the God I serve.
He’s provided me with a vision that is all too clear.
For that alone, I’m so grateful.

There is so much going on in so many countries. You would literally have to be a robot, if you don’t see or are not at least affected in some shape or form.
So on this here Friday, I ask that God give us the strength and courage to push through. Whether you are protesting, donating, praying, spreading awareness, whatever it is. Let us not be silent. Let us also not forget the God who created us all.

It was March 1st, 2018. I bought this journal and planner. I was sitting in a classroom full of students taking their exams. All of a sudden, all these thoughts and ideas came rushing out me. Like literally, RUSHING! My hand was not moving fast enough. ⠀
⠀
I sat there at that desk, and wrote until my mind was empty of all that I had in my head. ⠀
⠀
August 14, 2018 - .styles was born! ⠀
Black. Pink. White. Gold. (My love for pink was quite evident🤣). I had NO idea what the hell I was doing, but guess what?! I was freakin doin it! I knew I loved clothes and I could literally see visions of what someone would look like in their highest form. ⠀
That was all I knew. It’s by the grace of God that everything else worked itself out. ⠀

Fast forward to now, August 14, 2020 has passed and I didn’t take the time to celebrate the fact that I had managed to last 2 years in this relationship (cause that’s what it feels like lol judge me, I don’t care). I didn’t celebrate it because I thought that I hadn’t gone far enough and “it wasn’t that successful”, but I literally felt the spirit say to me “Listen, you are bigger than you think.” ⠀

Let me tell you something, ⠀
⠀
You don’t need eyes to SEE how big you are. ⠀
⠀
All you need is FAITH.⠀
⠀
Faith has NO senses!! ⠀
⠀
If you SAY you are big and you BELIEVE it, then guess what? ⠀
⠀
YOU. ARE. FREAKIN. BIG. ⠀
⠀
Don’t wait for anyone to appreciate you for what you do. Pat your own damn back! Give yourself a standing ovation. Take time to appreciate your journey, even if you think it’s small. At least you took a step! That counts! ⠀

I used to feel bad about resting or taking breaks, but as I took some time to reflect, I realized this is not something I should take fore granted. ⠀
⠀
If I want to be my best self for others. I have to first be the best for myself. So that can be in different ways. Some of the things I’ve been doing during my time of rest are: ⠀
⠀
✨ Reading God’s word- I’m about to enter the New Testament! My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner because Whew boy! It’s off the charts, definitely recommend) ⠀
✨ Deep conditioning/ washing my hair every 2-3 weeks (ya girl was rocking messed up corn rows under this wig for too long 😂) ⠀
✨ Paying more attention to my skin- Coconut and I don’t go together, can you believe it?! Smh⠀
✨ COOKING - All this while I thought I didn’t like to cook. Turns out that I actually do like it, but when I’m stressed out or have too much going on, I lack the strength to even attempt making anything. ⠀
✨ Patting myself on the back more - There was a time where I was doing a lot. I mean ALOT! (I earned the name “Onye- ije” from my father which is basically a saying in igbo for someone that is always on the move 🤷🏾♀️) Even with all that, I felt like I wasn’t doing enough. ⠀
✨ Spending time with my loved ones. Even if it’s just a FaceTime call or a text to say hi. ⠀
✨ Staying off social media as much as I can. - I post, interact for a bit, and go. My notifications are turned off so I don’t get tempted to grab my phone. ⠀
⠀
Don’t take resting fore granted. Of course, work hard in whatever it is you are striving for, but pay attention to your body, your mind, your soul. These are the things that can’t be replaced. ⠀

Never forget...

We are on God’s timeline. Not our own. ✨ ⠀

I had to step away from to remind myself of who I am. There is life outside of social media. I’m finding it to be more peaceful not always feeling the need to check my phone, scrolling up and down my feed, or just feeling the pressure to post something. ⠀
There was a video I once watched where the lady said⠀

And that’s exactly what it was. ⠀
I didn’t have it. I needed a break! ⠀

And honestly....⠀

I LOVE IT HERE! ⠀

I’m in a mode of just BEING! ⠀
I’m called for much greater and I’m answering THAT call. ⠀

When you feel like you may be losing it, go back to the SOURCE! Which is the One who created you. That is where you will find your answer. With Faith in Gods Word + Action, you can find your way out of ANYTHING! ⠀

Paying an item in collections doesn’t get it automatically removed from your credit report.

The only thing that will change is the status to “paid” which still makes it a negative item on your credit report. Here’s a couple tips to get the collection items removed:

⚡️Request Debt Validation. The collection agency is required to provide you the documents the proves this is your debt and usually shows detailed account info.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️If they prove your account is valid, negotiate a settlement with the collection agency. We provide a template for this letter in our protection plan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I highly recommend doing these communications in writing. Remember, the collection agency is not who you initially did business with.
