My statement on Kamala Harris' election loss
To say that I am heartbroken and still in shock is an understatement.
I will go to my grave not understanding how someone who attempted to overthrow the rule of the people on 1/6 has been re-elected to the same office he left in disgrace. I will never understand how Americans handed a surgical knife to a woman's womb without any exception and sold her life in exchange for a reduction in a gallon of gas. I will never understand or forgive anyone who voted a felon and ra**st into the office of the President of the United States. Let me know how you will explain to your grandchildren or loved ones how their mother died due to a pregnancy that miscarried when a doctor's intervention would have saved her.
Those of us who are warriors for democracy are left speechless. We watched in disbelief as the counting of votes played out, state by state, minute by minute until we could not deny that Kamala had lost the fight. Trump's promise that he did not need your votes and would win without them came true. I, for one, can not dismiss his prediction without question.
Today, we will reflect and give ourselves a break. But I can not end this post without thanking my MEMEZASH Your Voice For Democracy Group team. Liz Hance and Lucius Labrie have been dedicated to our mission at MEMEZASH: to provide factual information to our followers and members, to question our political discourse, and to offer opinions that give you reason to pause. For more than 4 years, they have never abandoned their job or commitment to me for honest reporting and truthful research. It takes a village, as they say, and Liz and Lucius are the backbone of our group. Thank you, Liz and Lucius, for your friendship and support.
Tomorrow is another day. As I promised, the country will have a new dawn moving forward.
Peace and love always. - Janice
