If we were to break it down, at our core, we’d consider ourselves a creatives collaborative loosely based on the golden era of Hip-Hop culture. Surely, you’ve heard of Hip-Hop giant “TeamBackpack”, whose entity revolves around little more than cyphers among talented indie emcees? (If not, they’re worth a listen) While the extensive wordplay is fascinating, we feel like there’s so much missing, in respect to Hip-Hop as a whole. Simultaneously, there’s not much competition, which is where we come in!
“Backpackers” in respect to the culture, from our perspective, are most often viewed as privileged suburban kids. We too have the intelligence to blend in with that demographic but we feel the more rugged feel of the Knapsack (bindle/”hobo stick”) is more symbolic and appropriate for what we represent, where we’ve come from and the journey we’ve taken to get where we are today.
