We have our Emergency Alert System (EAS) in place and operational. It’s the final piece we needed in order to be fully compliant with the FCC. Once the government reopens and we can submit our final paperwork, 98.3 The Seagull, WXQA-LP Barclay will be a licensed radio station!

Our 98.3 FM signal is about to get better! The FCC granted our modification request to raise our antenna! That gives you a stronger signal and slightly more listening radius overall. We're doing this to better serve YOU on the Mid Shore. You can see the difference in the maps below. The first image is our approximate current coverage are, the second image is the expected new coverage area.

Our new signal reaches over 11,000 residents on the Mid Shore. Here’s the breakdown:

In general, you should be able to pick up our signal with your car radio inside the blue circle… our signal is able to be picked up outside of the circle but results will vary.

We continue to make progress on perfecting our on air signal. We are still working on our audio processing to get that HD sound we are looking for BUT, we were also able to get our station information to transmit. If your radio is able to receive RDS info (most can) you will now see our station info on your radio display. It will look like this:

Took advantage of the nice weather today to get our antenna prepped for install. We are hoping to be on the air by the end of spring!

It’s been about 60 hours since the FCC granted us our construction permit for 98.3 FM and we are already working on “building” the station. We’ve moved our server PC and on air computer, both of which run The Seagull, to be with our newly installed transmitter. Our Antenna will be going up soon!!

The FCC granted us our construction permit today. We can now "build" the station and get us back on the air on 98.3 FM! We are hoping to be on the air by the end of Spring.

Great news! The 30 day publlic notice period on our FCC application for 98.3 FM has completed. Now we wait for the FCC to grant us our construction permit so we can get on the air. In the mean time, we are unveiling our brand new logo for The Seagull
