At the design height of Doug’s apparel line Born To Skate, he saw an ingenious collaborative opportunity with highly acclaimed Dominican illustrator and designer, Pedro Josue Carvajal. Known to the creative masses as “MadKobra.” The relationship was sparked when Evans connected with MadKobra to design initial concepts for an upcoming apparel launch using the Born To Skate staple character “Ash.” He wanted to bring to the rabbit’s fighting spirit to the forefront while unfolding the rabbit’s backstory. Pedro took Doug’s vision and brought it to life like never before and Evans knew they were on to something more than just a t-shirt design. They were on the cusp of creating a tangible legacy in the toy industry. Doug sealed the international collaboration with Pedro as the duo brought to life the brand’s iconic rabbit, as “Ash, Street Samurai” launching Magnetic Toys. Releasing the first ever toy collectible of its kind and flagship product for Magnetic, the Samurai has increased chatter across the globe. What lies ahead for Magnetic Toys, founder Doug Evans, and his team of international creators is a path of rabbits and success. The team is currently in the creative lab building the next Street Samurai member. Evans is often asked the question, Why Rabbits? His reply, “rabbits are tangibles affirmations for me to keep going;” and that is just what he continues to do with no stops in between.

Evans continues to forge ahead leveraging his decades of advertising, fashion, design, and most recent half-decade of toy making experience to design a life of his own, that he enjoys. When’s he’s not operating his businesses you will always find him creating and thinking of a master plan to build the next Ferrari.
