This world story literally makes my chest ache, when I think about it...
The system makes money from every placement and so these kids are trafficked like cash cows. Some of the homes they are placed in are loving and caring, but the rest are abusive. Foster children usually grow up to live very unfair adult lives - life didn’t even hand them lemons - so they end up with depression and are not properly socialized. Finding it difficult to succeed in a society they weren’t prepared for, they find themselves homeless, incarcerated or on welfare within two years. Some abused foster kids, seek out support and I would say these are miracle stories.
