MOBO, Masbate -- Village authorities here on Friday, (July 28) refuted Masbate-Mobo Water District's (MMWD) claim that they have 403 active service connections in Brgy. Lalaguna, in this town.
Village Chairman Exor N. Reyes stated unequivocally that the MMWD's service connection has not yet been extended to their community.
Reyes also denied any familiarity with the individuals whose names were listed as having operational service connections with MMWD in his barangay.
The chairman was worried that his community had been used for some activity that he was unaware of.
Hon. Christian Deo S. Duran, the Kagawad of the barangay, has likewise refuted claims that MMWD has provided service to this area.
The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) officer Romy Diaz, who visited Brgy. Lalaguna's hall for validation has confirmed when he asked the village councilor on duty a single question, asking if Brgy. Lalaguna has an active service connection in MMWD, to which the councilor replied negative.
Engr. Jerry Guadayo, the representative of Masbate City, brought to Councilor Duran's attention the possibility that their barangay is being used to generate the claim of 403 active service connections in MMWD, despite the fact that there are none of these connections in reality.
