Woodworking has been part of my life for over 50 years, and it’s funny how the lessons carry over.
Here’s the truth I’ve learned (both in the shop and in business): if you don’t start with a solid foundation, you’ll pay for it later.

Woodworking has a way of teaching you about relationships, patience, and building things that LAST.

On one hand, you’re starting with rough-cut walnut, milling it down to create something usable. On the other, you’re crafting a black walnut piece to meet an artist’s exact vision—custom-turned legs included.

The lesson? Whether it’s solid wood, business, or life, what you start with and how you build it MATTERS. Relationships, tools, and a solid foundation make all the difference in the final product.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you have heard of the damage that Hurricane Helene delivered to the Southeastern U.S. This is where I live and the place I have called home for my entire life. Tonight's show will be a tribute to the highlands of Tennessee and North Carolina and I'll be talking with a couple of friends about their love for and memories of this region. I'll also be featuring music that I would play when I was driving and hiking in the North Carolina highlands.
