Georgia Ports Authority continues to “Grow Big” with the approval of 55 hybrid yard cranes at GPA’s Ocean Terminal.
“This significant investment in new equipment will help prepare the Port of Savannah to handle more ships and cargo while maintaining the world-class service our customers have come to expect,” said GPA Executive Director Griff Lynch. “These new machines will expand our capabilities, operate at lower cost, and leave a smaller carbon footprint than conventional diesel cranes.”
Georgia Ports Authority has agreed to spend $170 million on 55 hybrid-engine rubber-tired gantry cranes to outfit GPA's Ocean Terminal.
Lights! Camera! Action! The Georgia Film Office proudly announced an additional 500,000 square feet of full-service entertainment and production space (including 12 large sound stages, offices, and support space). This Douglas County-based complex will bring thousands of jobs to the area, thanks to the $200 million deal between Lionsgate and Great Point Studios.

On March 23 Hanwha Advanced Materials Georgia announced that it will spend $147 million to build a Cartersville facility with more than 160 jobs to support solar panel maker Qcells’ expansion into Bartow County.
The Qcells solar panel factory in the northwest of the state and the Hyundai electric vehicle Metaplant in southeast Georgia are drawing suppliers to build plants nearby, while soundstages and related developments are blooming across metro Atlanta and beyond.
Last month, Qcells North America announced a new partnership with Summit Ridge Energy to supply their solar projects with more than 1.2 gigawatts of Qcells’ high-performance, American-produced, and sustainably made solar modules.
