The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others. Psalm 15:2-3

Save me, Lord,
from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues Psalm 120:2

An honest witness does not deceive,
but a false witness pours out lies. Proverbs 14:5

If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 1 John 1:6

Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. Ephesians 4:25

A rattlesnake bit one of my sheep in the face about a week ago. The deadliest snake that lives around. The sheep's face was swollen and hurt like crazy, but the old rattle did not know the type of blood that runs in the sheep.
The antidote is usually made from sheep's blood. The sheep was swollen for about 2 days but the blood of the lamb destroyed the serpent's venom. I was worried, but the sheep didn't care. He kept eating, he kept drinking, and he kept walking because he knew he was fine.
Don't worry about the serpent or his bite, just be sure that the Lamb's Blood flows through your veins. (unknown author)

PSALM 86
Bow down Your ear, O Lord, hear me;
For I am poor and needy.
Preserve my life, for I am holy;
You are my God;
Save Your servant who trusts in You!
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
For I cry to You all day long.
Rejoice the soul of Your servant,
For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
And attend to the voice of my supplications.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
For You will answer me.

Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord;
Nor are there any works like Your works.
All nations whom You have made
Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And shall glorify Your name.
For You are great, and do wondrous things;
You alone are God.

Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forevermore.
For great is Your mercy toward me,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

O God, the proud have risen against me,
And a mob of violent men have sought my life,
And have not set You before them.
But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious,
Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.

Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me!
Give Your strength to Your servant,
And save the son of Your maidservant.
Show me a sign for good,
That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed,
Because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

Answered Prayer
Today’s Scripture: 2 Thessalonians

You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin. – Exodus 32:30

Did the apostle Paul ever receive an answer to prayer? I’m sure you’re thinking, Of course he did! But do you have proof? Throughout the New Testament we read Paul’s admonitions to pray, and we even have several recorded examples of his petitions and praise to God. But what about answers?

Look at 1 Thessalonians 3:10. Paul says that night and day he has been praying earnestly that God would allow him to see them again, to help them in their life of faith. He goes on to tell them in verse 12 that he has been praying that God would give them a greater, ever-increasing, overflowing love for each other. So there we have a record of Paul’s specific request for two needs in the lives of the Thessalonians.

Now look in today’s passage at 2 Thessalonians 1:3: “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.” How about that! When Paul wrote his first letter to the Thessalonians, he was praying for their faith and love to grow. Now, he begins his second letter by thanking God for these two graces that are abounding in their lives.

Friend, if you’re praying for God’s work in the life of someone, take heart. God does answer prayer. Keep at it, and let your prayer life grow. As you pray earnestly, fervently, even night and day as Paul prayed, you will know the joy of answered prayer.

Prayer

Lord, help me to be faithful to pray for others. Amen.

To Ponder

Scripture gives overwhelming testimony that God hears our prayers, and He answers.

Romans 8:12-17
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bo***ge again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Bless the Lord, o my soul, o my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before, o my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
Bless the Lord, o my soul, o my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before, o my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
You're rich in love and You're slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
Bless the Lord, o my soul, o my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before, o my soul
I'll worship Your holy name (bless you Lord)
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore
Forevermore

Worship His holy name
Sing like never before, o my soul
I'll worship Your holy name, come on
Bless the Lord, o my soul, o my soul

In Christ, Not in Us
Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 2:11

“He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source.”

Arthur W. Pink has identified a key issue in living by grace: "The great mistake made by most of the Lord’s people is in hoping to discover in themselves that which is to be found in Christ alone."

All Christians recognize that we’re justified—declared righteous—solely on the basis of the righteousness of Christ imputed to us by God through faith (Romans 3:21-25). But few of us fully recognize that we’re also sanctified through faith in Christ. Sanctification, or holiness (the two words are virtually interchangeable), is essentially conformity to the moral character of God. We normally think of sanctification as progressive, as an inner change of our character whereby we are conformed more and more to the likeness of Christ. That’s certainly a major part of sanctification, but not all of it.

Scripture speaks of both a holiness we already possess in Christ before God and a holiness in which we’re to grow more and more. The first is the result of the work of Christ for us; the second is the result of the work of the Holy Spirit in us. The first is perfect and complete and is ours the moment we trust Christ; the second is progressive and incomplete as long as we’re in this life.

The objective holiness we have in Christ and the subjective holiness produced by the Holy Spirit are both gifts of God’s grace and are both appropriated by faith. And the perfect holiness we have in Christ is the reason we can appear daily before a perfectly holy God when even our best deeds are stained and polluted.

1 Peter 5:5-6
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

O the blood
Crimson love
Price of life's demand
Shameful sin
Placed on Him
The Hope of every man
O the blood of Jesus washes me
O the blood of Jesus shed for me
What a sacrifice that saved my life
Yes, the blood, it is my victory
Savior Son
Holy One
Slain so I can live
See the Lamb
The great I Am
Who takes away my sin
O the blood of Jesus washes me
O the blood of Jesus shed for me
What a sacrifice that saved my life
Yes, the blood, it is my victory

O the blood of the Lamb
O the blood of the Lamb
O the blood of the Lamb
The precious blood of the Lamb
What a sacrifice
That saved my life
Yes, the blood, it is my victory
O what love
No greater love
Grace, how can it be
That in my sin
Yes, even then
He shed His blood for me
O the blood of Jesus washes me
O the blood of Jesus shed for me
What a sacrifice that saved my life
Yes, the blood, it is my victory
What a sacrifice that saved my life
Yes, the blood, it is my victory

What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Repairing a Spiritual Leak
Today’s Scripture: Hosea 7-8

Make your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees. – Psalm 119:135

If you’ve ever had a slow leak in a tire, you probably didn’t notice it until the tire was completely flat.

In Hosea 7-8 we have the description of a slow spiritual leak. Over a period of time, the people of God gradually drifted away from Him. It probably started just as it does with us–a small sin, an act that looked quite harmless. But it resulted in disorder and eventually in God’s judgment. One stage in the people’s downward spiral is noted in Hosea 8:12, where God says: “I wrote for them the many things of my law, but they regarded them as something alien.” God had become a stranger among His own people, and they treated His words as something remote and unrelated to their lives.

A phrase I’ve heard a lot of people use at one time or another is, “I don’t want to hear it.” That’s how Hosea records the reaction of the people to the Word of God. The Word did not fit their lifestyle, so they closed their ears and went their own way. During the days of Hosea the prophet, God pleaded with His people, year after year, to repent and turn to Him. His love and compassion are clearly seen in these pages from the Old Testament. But His people refused to listen and brought judgment on themselves.

To read the Bible, to hear the voice of God, to believe and to obey–that way leads to life. Christian, if there’s a slow spiritual leak in your life, why not stop and get it repaired? If the Lord is speaking to you, open your heart to Him and get back on the road of daily discipleship.

Prayer

Lord, I’ve been toying with something that I know displeases You and blocks my hearing. I want to turn from my way and listen to Your voice once more. Amen.

To Ponder

Are you open to God’s voice, or is there something you don’t want to hear from Him?

Avoiding Slow Leaks
Today’s Scripture: Leviticus 18-20

Avoid every kind of evil. – 1 Thessalonians 5:22

A quick read through Leviticus 18-20 raises some questions: How low can society go? How deep into sin? How polluted can the human spirit become? How degraded the human race? There are laws and commands in this passage that stagger the mind, and the Lord speaks plainly and bluntly to His people. “You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God” (Leviticus 18:3-4).

So they were neither to retain the idolatry of Egypt nor take on the moral standards of the land to which they were going, and they were to abstain from the corruption of their own fleshly desires.

A scientist told me about a 32-inch steel pipe carrying 1,800 pounds of steam pressure that suddenly exploded. People were burned. The room was destroyed. The force was so powerful that the insulation was peeled off the walls. The cause? A small impurity in the weld. The impurity was so tiny no one noticed it. But it blew a thirty-foot hole in that huge steel pipe.

In the Christian life, a blowout begins with a small, slow leak. If we are to avoid visible sins such as immorality and dishonesty, we must deal with the little things–the tiny impurities in the welds of our souls. May God give us wisdom and courage to confront those things that look small but can be used by the Devil to destroy us.

Prayer

Lord, search me and see if I am harboring any tiny impurity in my life that could devastate my walk with You. Amen.

To Ponder

Sin always begins as a tiny impurity, but contains the potential for destruction on a massive scale.

The Sacrifice for Our Sins
Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 52-57

Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. – Acts 8:35

Isaiah 53 is one of the clearest Old Testament prophecies of the coming Messiah, depicting Him as the suffering servant who endured the punishment we deserve. Perhaps you can quote verses 5-6 from memory: “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

Years ago, I was holding some evangelistic meetings with college students in Halifax, Nova Scotia. One night after I had shared the gospel and a word of personal testimony with some students in a dorm, a young woman told me how she had recently come to faith in Christ. She was of Jewish descent and had been a vocal opponent of the Christians on her campus. But as she read her Old Testament one day, she came to Isaiah 53. For the first time, she saw what the Christians in her dorm had been trying to tell her. The Messiah had come–and died for her. Through the reading of this passage and through the witness and prayers of Christians on her campus, she gave her life to Christ and became an outspoken witness for Him.

Sometimes we read the book of Acts and wonder why miraculous things like that don’t seem to happen today. Friend, they do! Just like the official from Ethiopia, whom Philip led to Christ after he read from Isaiah 53, this young college woman found her Messiah and Savior by reading the very same passage.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for dying for my sin. By Your wounds, I have been healed. Amen.

To Ponder

Jesus Christ is the Messiah. He died in my place so that I can live eternally.

ONLY GOD HAS THE POWER, DESIRE AND ABILITY TO BREAK A HEART THAT IS COLD, UNLOVING, UNCARING, AND AS HARD AS STONE INTO A NEW HEART.
ONE THAT IS TENDER, SOFT, CARING, FORGIVING , GRATEFUL, HUMBLE- ONE THAT IS MADE OF FLESH IN THE ORIGINAL DESIGN OF ITS CREATOR. WASHED OF ITS SIN SO THAT IT MAY START TO BECOME ONE THAT IS HOLY AND PURE .
THIS IS THE HEART THAT HAS BEEN " BORN AGAIN! "

The Word Convicts of Sin
Today’s Scripture: Genesis 6-9
What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? – Romans 3:3
Today’s passage concerning the Flood is directly related to a modern difficulty you may be facing. Maybe you’ve talked with someone about Christ, only to have them respond, “I don’t believe the Bible.” What does that have to do with the Flood, you ask?
Let me illustrate. I took a course on evolution in college. One of the professor’s stated objectives was to destroy the faith of any Christian in the class. So I began to witness to him. One day when I left the room, his lab assistant followed me and expressed interest in what I had been saying. I invited him to see the Moody Science film “Dust or Destiny,” which showed the remarkable wisdom in the creative acts of God.
He was impressed, and when I asked him if the film had changed his thinking, he told me it had. He could plainly see there was far more evidence for the truth of the creation story than for evolution. “But I have no intention of becoming a Christian,” he said. “It would mean turning from my sin, and I’m not ready to do that.” It was a moral issue, not an intellectual issue. And this is why some people are so reluctant to believe the biblical account of the Flood. It is clearly tied to the judgment of God and the sinfulness of man.
As you witness to people, you may encounter those who say, “I don’t believe the Bible.” When that happens, just remember that we’re not out to win arguments but to win men and women to personal faith in Jesus Christ. That takes prayer, a humble heart and the power of the Holy Spirit. So keep sharing the truth of the Bible, even with those who say they can’t believe it.
Prayer
Lord, help me to keep on telling others about Your Word–even those people who dismiss it. Amen.
To Ponder
Since the Holy Spirit uses the Word to convict us of sin, we should be faithful to proclaim it to others.

11/04/2022

In the Bible, bread is mentioned at least 492 times and Jesus tells us that He is the Bread of Life. "And Jesus said to them, "I Am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." John 6:35 and “I Am the Bread which came down from heaven.” John 6:41b When Jesus tells us He is the Bread of Heaven and calls us to come to Him, He is not referring to a physical hunger or thirst but, a spiritual hunger and thirst that only He can fill or satisfy. The hunger and thirst that our spirits need can only be filled with the Spirit of the Living God. "Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit. Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:6-8 In order for us to be spiritually satiated we must 'feed' on the Word. Scripture tells us Jesus Himself is the Word, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14 As Passover is coming up on April 15, it's the perfect time to read Mark 14. During the last Passover before Jesus was betrayed and crucified He said, "And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Mark 14:22 The Word is much more than a book and incredibly more than most truly understand it to be. The Word is personal, interactive, and alive. The Word was sent by God to reveal God. The Word is Jesus, the Word is the very spoken, God breathed message to humans who have ears to hear. "For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 Jesus = Living Bread of Life from Heaven = His flesh = Word

The Most Important Stealth Factor to Improve Your Health

Minerals play a crucial role in the activation of enzyme pathways, which are responsible for metabolism. This, in part, is what makes minerals so foundational for good health. If you don’t have the required minerals, the “batteries” of your cells, the mitochondria and the nuclei, won’t work. Inflammation is poor energy production, and the reason goes back to mitochondrial dysfunction
Iron and copper are highly interdependent and need to be considered together. If you don’t have copper in your diet, hemoglobin production becomes impaired, along with many other aspects of iron metabolism. So, being anemic does not automatically mean that you’re iron deficient. You may be deficient in copper. Anemia typically relates to iron dysfunction or dysregulation, not deficiency
The best way to lower excessive iron is to donate blood, one to four times a year. Most adult men and postmenopausal women have high iron and could benefit from regular blood donation, as high iron is extremely toxic and destroys health. An even better strategy is to remove smaller amounts of blood every month and a recommended schedule is provided
To raise your copper level, you could use a copper supplement, but foods like grass-fed beef liver, bee pollen and whole food vitamin C are better
If you’re a farmer or grow your own food, the best way to put copper back into the soil, to get it into the food, is to add copper sulfate. Before you plant, simply spray the soil with copper sulfate, 10 to 15 pounds per acre
