A friend handed me her phone and asked me to scroll through her dating app profile and pick the best guy for her.

I scrolled through at least 50 men, clicked through to see the profiles of about 7, and passed on them all.

I genuinely believe many of these guys were giving their best effort, but my God, the pitiful photos and profile quality were just sad.

So, what photos should men STOP posting on dating apps?

🪞 Stop with the bathroom selfies.
🩲 Stop the shirtless photos.
💪🏿 Stop the gym mirror selfies.
🧸 Stop posting photos of someone else’s kids.
👶 Stop posting photos of your kids.
🐶 Stop taking photos with someone else’s dog.
🐯 Stop with photos of you standing next to tranquilized tigers.
🎣 Stop the photos of holding up the fish you caught.
💔 Stop using photos with your cropped or blurred-out ex.
💒 Stop using photos from your previous wedding.
🪧 Stop including that one photo you have from the Women’s March five years ago.
😷 Stop wearing covid masks in your photos.
🔫 Stop posing with AR15s.
💤 Stop lounging in your bed with pillows propped up.
🛏️ If you must use a photo from your bedroom, at least make sure that your bed is made.
🍽️ Stop with dirty clothes and dirty dishes in the background.
🚹 Stop using photos with a urinal anywhere in the shot.
📸 Stop the cover photos with groups of friends, especially if they all look like elite models.
👀 Stop giving Tyra banks smize in every damn photo.
📱 Stop using feature distortion filters.
🚴‍♂️ Stop manspreading in lycra shorts.
👎 Stop with photos where you look like you're having a miserable time.
💸 Stop with photos holding stacks of cash.
🕶️ Stop wearing sunglasses in every photo.
💬 Please don’t post perfect pictures… but no bio.

Great dating app photos are truly simple: get a friend to take a photo of you showing genuine joy without all the props. That it. Everything else makes you look like a serial killer or a s*x pest.

Ladies, next, I'm pointing out mistakes I'm seeing you make on the apps.

This is my before and after. Although I have new goals I still celebrate the little wins. I can say I have lost over 30 pounds since I started my fitness journey. Today I am working towards being a better version of myself.
