The Partners Card fundraiser for The Family Place offers shoppers 20% discounts at over 600 retailers with a $75 card, benefiting survivors of family violence. This year’s seller soirée was hosted by Veronica Beard in Highland Park Village with Nancy Bierman and Co-Chairs Elizabeth Ward Creel and Tiffany Moon.

The Dallas Public Affairs Luncheon Club (DPALC), established in 1932, hosts expert-led discussions. Senator and Mrs. John Carona recently hosted a reception at their home. Visit DPALC.com for upcoming events.

All of Dallas and University Park mourns Al Biernat.

Al was the founder of the acclaimed steakhouse- Al Biernat’s. He had a standard of excellence and great hospitality. Al was genuine, personable, and charming.

He was diagnosed with ALS in December of 2023, and passed away on November 13th. Greet University Park sends our heartfelt condolences to Al’s family and friends.

🐾 Meet Lucy Pearl, this month’s Precious Pet at Greet University Park! 🌟

Once facing an uncertain future, Lucy was rescued from East Lake Pet Orphanage after a tough start with a breeder who didn't value her once she was spayed. Thankfully, the kind veterinarians at ELPO gave her a second chance, and the Morris family was blessed to bring her into their home. Now, at 10 ½ years old, she’s the Queen of the Castle, loving park walks, long naps, and endless cuddles. They are so grateful to give her the life she truly deserves. 🐶💖

November is Diabetes Awareness Month! 🌟

Meet Blakely, a brave Kindergartener and diabetes advocate. Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after her fourth birthday, Blakely and her family face daily challenges. With her ER nurse mom and paramedic dad, managing diabetes is a true team effort. 💪

Her continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and insulin pump help her stay active, and at school, support from her nurse lets her focus on learning and educating friends. 🌈📚

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune condition, not diet-related, and can’t be prevented or cured. Blakely’s resilience shows that with proper care, life can still be sweet. 💖
