New Video Released!

In this tutorial, I will share with you a couple of methods to model wireframes or props requiring a custom model in xLights.

Custom Models allows you to create your own props and model them in xLights. This is a very powerful feature of xLights. Also don’t forget to add Submodels to your new Custom Model for even more flexibility and effect options when sequencing your prop.

I will walk you through a custom prop I retrofitted with pixels and how I modeled it in xLights using a picture of the prop. I will also show you how to create submodels and finally a working demo of the prop.

Video Released Delayed due to bug found in ESPixelStick firmware.

While I was making this tutorial I discovered random flashing / flickering when 5 or more ports are configured. I'm working with the main developer to resolve this issue, however no ETA at the moment.

As soon as the bug is resolved I will release this video.

Here is the full version of "Danger Zone". This video will be submitted to a community project called "xLights around the world". xLights is the software I use to sequence the lights to music. The project takes video submissions from all over the world and makes a composite video of all the submissions. It is a very cool project. Last year there was over 1000 submissions.
