Just a little update on our sweet buddy, Luke. We continue to pray for his healing 🤍

Luke update: Luke contracted Rotavirus-a very contagious virus that causes diarrhea. He was very dehydrated upon arrival and has been given IV fluids for the last 2 days. He is expected to probably remain hospitalized thru the weekend according to his Dad, Adam.

This can be a very dangerous virus even for a child who is not immune compromised. The good news in this is that Luke's amino acid panel came back good. While Luke and other transplant patients have a new liver, they will always have MSUD. Had he not been transplanted this virus could have spiked his leucine to dangerously high levels which then could have lead to brain involvement.

Luke has been getting some peaceful rest. Thank you for the prayers and please keep them coming 🙏💚

📣📣ATTENTION PRAYER WARRIORS📣📣Our sweet friend Luke needs your prayers!!! While Finley just got out of the hospital yesterday our dear friend is now admitted. We’ve known Lukey and his amazing family since our early days of MSUD and they are especially dear to us! If you have a moment to pray for his healing it would be much appreciated 🤍

Prayer Warriors...Luke could use your prayers right now. He has been admitted to Children's Health in Dallas this morning. Luke started throwing up yesterday afternoon and it continued on thru the night so his team wanted him to go to the ER. Luke has been struggling with very low Neutrophils (white blood count) which is due to the anti rejection medication he has to take. Any kind of bug or cold, Luke's body cannot fight off. Luke is also very dehydrated. We ask that you would pray for him to get well soon. Thank you đź’š

Finley is out of surgery and resting for the afternoon. Everything went as planned. He will have an NG tube in place for the next 24 ish hours. These can be rather uncomfortable so we are praying for as little discomfort as possible and that this doesn’t impact his willingness and success with taking his meds. Thank you all for your continued love and support! 🤍

Happy Sunday everyone. Just wanted to fill y’all in on latest with Fin. We brought him back to Children’s on Friday night as he started running another fever. His g tube site was still not healing appropriately and he is still fighting an infection despite antibiotics at home. The ultimate decision has been made to remove his g tube tomorrow as he has been successful in taking his 2 immunosuppressant meds by mouth.

This g tube has been our life line since he was 22 days old so to say we aren’t nervous would be a lie, however we know this is best for him. We are praying Fin continues consuming his medications by mouth successfully. We pray over the thoughts and actions of our surgical team during the procedure tomorrow. We pray for complete healing of his g tube site and infection. And we pray for an extended period of time away from the hospital as 4 admissions in the last 2 months have been very difficult for all of us!

Thank you all for following along in Finley’s transplant journey and for all of your love, support, positive thoughts, and prayers 🤍🤍

đź“Ł Calling all Finley Prayer Warriors đź“Ł

Sweet Finley started with a fever over a week ago and was admitted to Children’s yesterday. Through lab tests, and procedures it has been determined that Fin is having an issue with his G tube. He has been started on antibiotics and Fin will go to surgery tomorrow to investigate the issue with his G tube. The goal is to fix the issue rather than creating a new G button site but the plan could change depending on what they find. The family has been trying to get this issue resolved since May, and Fin is on his 6th round of antibiotics, so needless to say not a happy camper.

Let’s cover the family at this time with love support and most importantly PRAYERS!💙

Happy Monday! Finley is responding well to his steroid treatment, 3 of 5 doses have been given. His liver numbers are trending down🎉He got his last dose of antibiotics last night. We are praying for no more fevers once the coverage of that dose is up which should be sometime around 10pm tonight. As long as there are no hiccups he should get to go home after his 5th dose of steroids on Wednesday. We cannot thank you all enough for your continued love, prayers, and support 🤍

Finley went for his liver biopsy yesterday. About the time we rolled him into pre-op he spiked another fever which hung on until about 11:30pm and led to another round of viral and bacterial panels being drawn however at this point they have all come back negative. His biopsy results did show that he is currently in mild organ rejection but his liver function labs are already improving today. He will start a treatment plan of IV steroids while in the hospital until those labs improve significantly. He is feeling much better today!! We are praising God that this is a mild episode and that we have a great care team! We are so appreciative of all the prayers, love, and support from everyone 🤍
