Was thrilled to see this post from Tom Bowlus on TalkBass today along with pics of his Valkyrie amp and APX112 & APX210 speaker cabinets. It's always nice to get positive customer feedback, but with being the Editor in Chief of Bass Gear Magazine and a true connoisseur of fine bass gear, this one really means a lot to me!

An instrument like this fabulous Marleaux, deserves to be played through only the finest speaker cabinets. The 6" mid driver in these cabinets will bring out every sonic nuance your bass has to offer with amazing clarity and definition.

A ML112 hard at work. Studio tip. If you typically just run direct, you can really add another dimension to your tone my mic'ing up a ML112 on a separate channel. By moving the mic closer or further away from the mid driver, you can get a very wide array of tones out of this little cab!

New Cab Demo

Great hang with the folks at Nordstrand Audio. The guys were kind enough to lend me an ear on the new 112 design. I always like getting as much feedback as I can before putting a new design out there and these guys have some of the best ears in the business. Sound is a little limited being an iPhone recording and all, but it doesn't sound half bad. By the way, Mo is playing a customer's Roscoe bass that just got a new Nordstrand pick up upgrade, into Carey's new Starlifter preamp pedal and then into the power section of the Genzler. This preamp is fabulaous! If you have the means, I highly suggest one!
