I've seen so many artists that have given up because things didn't happen the way they thought they should or they weren't making enough money or things weren't happening as quick as they thought it should and many other things that deal with time or money.
After all the years I have been in the independent music industry I have noticed some things.
1. They didn't learn what they should have been learning to help themselves.
2. They weren't concerned with things that could have helped them and gotten them further.
3. They didn't register their music, which lead to them not having a stream of income coming from royalties.
4. They wanted other people to do it for them out of shear ego and laziness.
5. They didn't want to financially invest in themselves.
And more, but this is what I've noticed as some of the main issues. I'm by no means saying I was perfect at it. I did all of these things as well or lack there of... The difference is, I didn't quit, I continued to learn, and I stepped it up every chance I got.
I'm not even close to where I want to be with my music, but that's because I choose to put more work into learning the business side.
I have shared the posts of the person that has educated me on areas I didn't already know, I share plenty of opportunities that y'all don't care about, but still want to complain about not getting. Cool...
I'm just gonna put it to work for me and my team, because regardless of how spot on the information is, most people dont receive the message from individuals they deem "unsuccessful" or "not ballin". I get it, y'all (for whatever reason) HAVE to have "social proof". Not a problem. Keep watching.
