The idea for LIFE STORIES came from my search through Ancestry.com for my own family history. I was able to trace back to 1768 when Samuel Bradford, my great grandfather, times five, traveled via ship (the Betty Gregg) from Belfast, Ireland to Charleston, South Carolina.

The lure was land. King George of England, under the Bounty Act, had granted Protestants who settled in South Carolina one hundred acres of land to the head of the household and an additional fifty acres of land to each other family member. Samuel Bradford had a wife and five children. Coming to America would mean 400 acres of land.

My imagination took over. I wanted to see a photo of Samuel. Even better, a video where I could hear him speak and get a sense of his personality. I wanted to hear about his past and his goals for the future. However, the technology to do so would not show up for another 160 years. And even then, it would be another 70 years before it was affordable.

Each of us has a very important story to tell. It may be a life story or a segment of life story such as your military career or early childhood experiences. FOR MY "BRICK HOUSE" COMPADRES.......

I was in the Avant, OK area today and shot these photos of the Candy Creek house. Still standing but seems to be leaning a bit. For those of you unfamiliar, we shot most of "The Brick House", a full-feature film by Gus Cervantes and Doug Anderson, around and inside this unheated house in the middle of the 2012 winter.

I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE.....

Latr Daze Films will be shooting the promotional video for The Tulsa Artery. Owned and operated by Teresa and David Rechter, the concept is to provide a studio for showcasing and purchasing locally produced collectable art. Principle photography will begin tomorrow and the project should be completed sometime in June.

LATR DAZE FILMS WILL BE SHOOTING…..

the Behind The Scenes film of the making of "Black Beast IN Black Rubble". The short film is written and will be directed by Lisandro Boccacci. Lisandro (Lee), who is from Argentina, is in his last semester of film school at Tulsa University. I have worked with Lee on several projects in the past including "REWIND 50" where he served as my production assistant.

Lee's film centers around the 1921Tulsa race riots. Many filmmakers have dealt with this event and yet Lee's presentation will be uniquely different in many respects. He is a very talented and gifted writer and this film will most likely assure Lee a place in cinema.

LATR DAZE FILMS IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE…..

we will be shooting the Behind The Scenes film for the Hollywood film production "The Wash*ta Valley". The film will be shot in Oklahoma in and around Pauls Valley, Norman and Oklahoma City. My son, Nick, will be the editor on the film and his wife, Brittany, will be the Production Designer. My daughter, Becky, will be assisting me on my film. When the Director yells "Bradford" on the set, lots of heads will turn.

"The Wash*ta Valley" is a family film about a timid, imaginative boy who, against the wishes of his father, prepares for a local storytelling contest after encountering a Native American storyteller who transports him back to 1906 Indian Territory. The film is written and directed by Oklahoman Corban Hunter Quigg. Executive Producer is Trenton Waterson from the critically acclaimed documentary "Little Hope Was Arson".

It's going to be fun working with my kids again.

YESTERDAY, IN FRONT OF A PACKED HOUSE, WE PREMIERED...

our first in the "Life Stories" series at Inverness Village. It was the incredible story of Keith Mayo Capen. Ms. Capen (now Keith Allen) was born and raised in China during the Japanese Invasion. Her memories of the events as they unfolded were impeccable and told with such grace. Not one person left their seat during the 70 minutes of part 1. Part 2 was shown today. Thank you Keith for making this such an enjoyable adventure for me.

I FEEL THE NEED TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT……

In 2013, many of you financially and emotionally supported my efforts on a film documentary involving the Wounded Warriors Family Ski Week. Recently, CBS News investigated and found only 59% of the donations received by The Wounded Warrior Project was going to the wounded soldiers. The Wounded Warriors Family Ski Week Organization is a private organization and has NO affiliation with The Wounded Warrior Project. In 2013, ninety-seven cents of every dollar donated to the Wounded Warriors Family Ski Week went directly to the wounded warriors and their families.

Larry Horacek (Bill's brother), Marc Schuman and Tom Ackley (Ken's brother). They are in production on a film for their 50th reunion and we discussed the making of REWIND 50. They are highly motivated and I am sure their film will be spectacular.
