For my Human Sexuality Class we watched a documentary on the MPAA ratings board. I have always known certain facts mentioned in this documentary, but it is infuriating how much power the members of the ratings board have and there is no real standard for how and why they make the decisions that they do. I recommend watching the documentary and the NPR interview with the director of the film (linked in the comments section). However, the documentary contains nudity, violence and language (in the form of clips from other films) that some might find offensive.

This film discusses disparities the filmmaker sees in ratings and feedback: between Hollywood and independent films, between homosexual and heterosexual sexual situations, between male and female sexual depictions, and between violence and sexual content.
