My man Michael Kuever is coming back for round three of tracking guitars tonight. Stoked he’s putting my old ‘78 Les Paul to use as well. These songs are really coming together and sound killer!!!

I had an absolute blast editing this incredible panorama for a client starring a Wildebeest at the Ngorogoro Crater in Tanzania. FB kills the quality but if you zoom in on the full res version, you can see dozens of additional wildebeests and zebras!!! An amazing shot of an absolutely breathtaking place. As I sip one of my favorite brews from back in Oregon, I can’t help but think of a better first post from this page. After leaving the PNW and moving down to the Old Pueblo, the very first song I recorded in this new house was “April’s Fool.” I wanted to make a ska recording that I was proud of and would hopefully help me land some bandmates through the wild worlds of Craigslist online dating.

Ty listened to the track, responded to my ad, and we hit it off immediately. Then Mike saw the ad, heard the song, and wrote all the horn parts before we even met face to face! Along comes Andy who might be the smartest and most talented person I’ve ever met and has since become our Brass Master General. Then Spencer, teacher by day - my harmony singing and trumpet tootin’ confidant by night. The last piece of the puzzle that we were in dire need of and couldn’t have been any luckier to land, the ever so talented and even busier Thomas.

“April’s Fool” was the first song that we all worked on both individually and together. It came to be very quickly which has to mean something. We recorded the track here at Desert Yeti Studios back when it was simply known as “my house.” We launched it out onto the streamers on the final day of June 2023 and eight incredibly short months later, it hit over 100,000 streams on Spotify alone. Mind blown!

I cannot emphasize enough how proud I am of the guys. They’re so insanely talented and have become some of my favorite people on this planet. What Swigfoot has already accomplished in our infancy are some of the most prized moments of my musical journey.
