This week we "dive" into the 1998 sci-fi "action" flick SPHERE! With a stacked cast including Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, Sam Jackson and Liev Schreiber, this Barry Levinson picture sounds like it should be awesome, but god damn is it a chore. Don't worry though, we watched it so you don't have to! A team of scientists are dropped into a mysterious situation involving an alien spacecraft at the bottom of the sea and a perplexing golden sphere that is more than it seems to be. Today we kick of season 3 of Bad Movies Worse People with an entire month of water-based cinema we're calling DROWNuary! The first episode is a favorite of every member of the show, Kevin Costner's 1995 post-apocalyptic epic WATERWORLD! The polar ice caps have melted due to global warming and humanity survives on scattered floating settlements and boats. Of course, not only good people make it, Dennis Hopper and his Smokers roam to open seas, pillaging and murdering for survival. This one is long and you can just feel Kevin Costner smelling his own farts, but it's still a damn good time.

It took Whitney and Derrick a year to convince Jack to see this movie, and once he did, he was hooked. VIOLENT NIGHT is a Christmas action comedy starring David Harbour and John Leguizamo. David Harbour plays Santa Claus, who used to be a Viking apparently, and he has to save a little girl and her family from a group of terrorists led by John Leguizamo who take them hostage, Die Hard-style. Happy 79th birthday to the wonderful Ernie Hudson! One of the best parts of Ghostbusters, he always brings something extra to every movie or show he appears in, no matter how small the role. It's Friday the 13th again, so it's time for another SPECIAL episode. On our last Friday the 13th special we randomly drew a movie from THE BAG and we are discussing the original, classic, wonderful FRIDAY THE 13TH! For this, we invited our friend and horror movie expert back to record with us and he gladly jumped at the opportunity. The original entry that spawned an empire, this film sees a group of would-be camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake in New Jersey being systematically stalked and killed by a mysterious murdering monster. Dudes in short shorts, ladies in bikinis, knives, axes and blood spatters abound in this 80s horror classic.
