In this episode of Beneath The Surface In This Episode I FINALLY share part two of my Graduation Journey. I talk about what I needed space and time to process to create part two.

How I am feeling about my journey now that I have had some space from both the town and the institution that I did my undergraduate degree in.
I also share some of the things that I experienced that were obstacles and barriers to me graduating and express gratitude to the folks who helped me cross the finish line.

In this episode of Beneath The Surface I discuss the literacy crisis in the United States.

I talk a little bit about some trends of literacy that came about when I was in High School, my thoughts on how we are seeing some of the consequences of those trends. I also talk about how the shift in institutions of Higher Education becoming places to create workers opposed to places of knowledge production may be exacerbating the problem of literacy in our country.

Lastly, I provide suggestions on what types of social and policy changes we can advocate for to address the gap in literacy.

Join Karlyn Bradley and Renee Sills for an exploration of Aries through a lens of embodied activism and transformative justice. In this 5-week series, we’ll work with our natal charts and the offerings, potentials, and cautions of current transits and the upcoming eclipses.

Through examining astrological archetypes and myths, we’ll cultivate deeper awareness of the ways we have been shaped by intergenerational trauma and ancestral patterns; formation of identity and the ways our identities can help or hinder personal and relational intimacy; and strategies for healing through disruption of the status quo and inclusion of who/how/what may have been exiled and unallowed within dominant oppressive ideologies.

This series offers a fresh framework for working with astrology and is open to all levels of astrological experience. Participants will access new pathways of activation in their natal charts and will develop personal action plans for working with the upcoming eclipses.

This time next week I will be presenting at The Netroots Nation conference. It will be the first time that I will be doing so with The High Priestess Consulting Company LLC, which is the consulting company I founded.

The High Priestess Consulting company aims to help individuals, communities and organizations develop their understandings of systemic, political and social challenges through the use of workshops and trainings. My goal is to leave participants armed with tools, feeling re-connected to their power and ready to combat and dismantle injustice within their communities and organizations. I create fun, interactive and thought-provoking workshops that help people think critically about social issues and provide them with the tools to create or strengthen their critical feminist analysis.

For the last year I have been doing work behind the scenes to build my business. It being Leo season it feels like it is the right time to share myself and my business. I am very excited about what the future holds for this part of my journey. If you are interested in learning more about offerings feel free to send me a DM or an email at [email protected]

I am happy to share with you all my Graduation Photos. I wanted this to be a creative, artistic expression of myself and my journey. I wanted to think about how I could honor all of the different parts of myself. And while yes I am am a badass scholar I am also an artist. I actually started my college undergraduate journey out as a Fashion Design Major. So what an honor to end my Undergraduate Career with these fashion inspired photos in an outfit I helped design.

It has taken me a LONG time to get to this point and I have accomplished so much while on my journey to obtaining my Bachelors Degrees in Political Science and Gender And Women’s Studies.

So these photos are a representation of my accomplishment of obtaining my degrees AND the transformation I have made as a person.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me along in this journey. I hope that I have made all of you proud.

We Did It.
