John Goodman PR John Goodman PR Goodman was involved in the production and promotion of two network broadcasts, ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning.

John Goodman’s media background – ranging from producing and promoting two network morning news programs to public relations for some of America's best-known brands – gives him a unique perspective and success rate when it comes to media story placement. Effective media placement is a key part of any PR program, but it takes someone who’s been in the media to really be successful in pitching the m

edia. He helped publicize ABC’s historic mini-series “Roots” and also promoted the debut of ABC’s World News Tonight. He’s done public relations work for United Jewish Appeal, The Mexico Ministry of Tourism, Weight Watchers, Hertz , Fuji Film, Opryland, and British Airways, and he’s media trained executives from CEOs to astronauts. Goodman has also publicized numerous books, including Thorns of Truth (By Eileen Goudge), The Complete Idiot's Guide to Parenting a Teenager (Kate Kelly), Money Makeovers (Kate Kelly and Dr. Christopher Harris), Living Safe In An Unsafe World, The Complete Guide To Family Preparedness (Kate Kelly), What Is Spirit? (Lexie Potamkin), The Manager's Guide To Hiring The Right Person for Every Job (DeAnne Rosenberg), Teens In Turmoil (Dr. Carol Maxym), The Employee Strikes Back (John Rapoport), and Ticket To Ride: Inside the Beatles' 1964 Tour that Changed the World (Larry Kane). Goodman has spent the past 10 years working for Stern & Company and Goodman Media International, New York PR firms, while also doing national media placement work for freelance clients. Goodman worked three years for Primetime Publicity and Media in Sausalito, specializing in national media placement. From 1991-93, Goodman was a Senior Vice President and National Media Director at Edelman Worldwide and placed over 250 stories about Edelman clients on television. From 1987-91, Goodman was a Senior Producer at CBS This Morning. During those years, he was involved in the production and promotion of the program and helped develop the “Oh What A Beautiful Morning” programming and promotional theme of the broadcast. Goodman worked closely with anchors Paula Zahn, Harry Smith, Mark McEwen and Kathleen Sullivan. He also served as an anchor producer for Smith and Zahn during the first Gulf War with Iraq. Goodman was at ABC’s Good Morning America from 1980-87 as an Associate Producer and Producer and was involved in the programming and promotion of that very successful program. During those years, he worked closely with David Hartman, Joan Lunden, Charles Gibson and Spencer Christian. Prior to Good Morning America, Goodman was the Press Representative for ABC’s World News Tonight and the ABC Evening News with Harry Reasoner and Barbara Walters. He was involved in the creation and debut of World News Tonight in July 1978 with three anchors in three cities, Frank Reynolds in Washington, Peter Jennings in London and Max Robinson in Chicago. Before joining ABC, Goodman was a freelance sportswriter for The New York Times, an Assistant Sports Editor at The Patent Trader in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., and the Sports Director at WVIP Radio. He began his career at the Ossining (NY) Citizen Register. Goodman, who attended Arizona State University and graduated from Emerson College, is married with two daughters and lives in Tuckahoe, N.Y.

Thanks to Forbes.com for publishing this important column by our client Helio Fred Garcia of The Logos Consulting Group. There are many lessons we can harvest from the pandemic — including the dangers of misinformation and of political polarization of science. But the crisis management lesson, devoid of politics and ideology, is clear: In a crisis, take the crisis seriously, take the risks seriously, mitigate the risks fully. The outcomes will be far less devastating. https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbescoachescouncil/2021/10/19/crisis-management-lessons-from-the-pandemic-take-risks-seriously/?sh=48c0c37f5032

Crisis management works. But only when we manage the crisis effectively.

Thanks to Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Voyages CEO Tom McAlpin for the glowing mentions of client AtmosAir Solutions indoor air quality technology on NBC's Today Show this morning. AtmosAir HVAC tubes are installed, or being installed, on all of Virgin's new cruise ships. The company's patented bi-polar ionization HVAC tubes will help better protect passengers & crew from germs, viruses and other indoor air contaminants and helps deter the spread of airborne coronavirus.

Business mogul Richard Branson recently came back from space and is now launching a cruise line, Virgin Voyages. Branson is on TODAY joined by his business partner, Tom McAlpin, discussing how they’re safely launching amid a pandemic and what travelers can expect.

The Covid pandemic has not only changed the ways business operate, but also raised concerns about work/life balance and has caused smart CEOs and company leaders to pay new attention to the needs of their employees. One of those concerns is helping employees with their family elders. My new client, Grayce https://www.withgrayce.com, helps business and their employees navigate the needs for aging, ill, and vulnerable loved ones with expert guidance, personalized content, and vetted resources ranging from finance and legal planning, to living situations and household help. Relieving those everyday stresses and worries makes employees more productive and happier, in addition to being a great hiring and retention initiative for a business! I'm excited to begin work with co-founders Kassidee Kipp & Julia Cohen Sebastien creating awareness for this terrific company with a BIG idea!
