Summer will soon be with us, so what better time to start planning a trip to the Lake George Area?

We had a blast producing this new TV campaign...and found a few great spots that we can't wait to go back and visit for ourselves!

Our approach to these spots was to evoke a feeling or emotion through the use of sound, and occasionally the
lack of sound...as we just get to sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

You know what's no secret? Video is the absolute go-to for businesses to connect with their customers. This is true for both B2B and B2C. Check this out: a study by Wyzowl found that a whopping 88% of consumers rely on videos to make decisions online. And - hold on - people are spending ~19 hours a week glued to videos on the web!

Now, here's the kicker – finding the perfect video content for your business and brand can be a bit of a puzzle. There are tons of styles to choose from, like promotional videos, brand videos, explainer videos, and even customer testimonials, just to name a few. The trick to choosing the right style(s) is to know your audience inside out – what they like, what they need. That's when the magic happens.

Once you've got that part nailed down, it's time to get creative and align your video with your brand's identity. Here are six standard types of video that can spark inspo for your own business. The key here is striking the perfect balance between awesome storytelling and those persuasive moves. (We can help you with all of that!) Get ready to create captivating commercials that truly engage your audience and reinforce your brand identity all at once.

Have you ever thought about adding 360-degree videos to your marketing strategy? A lot of brands might say, "Nah, not for us." What about you? You could be missing out on an engaging, immersive to connect with your audience on a whole new level!

Unlike standard videos that are all about one fixed view, 360-degree videos capture every angle of a scene at the same time. It's like a panorama, but way more fun. The camera pans in all directions, not just left and right.

And guess what? Viewers love it! This kind of experiential marketing takes things up a notch from the usual content. It's like your customers are right there, in the thick of it - whether it's a product tutorial, a real estate tour, or a live concert stream. They'll feel like a part of the action, right in the moment! Pretty awesome, huh?

360-degree videos aren’t just fun for viewers — they’re also great for marketers and brands that want to capitalize on the storytelling benefits. For both B2B and B2C sales models, the interactive elements of 360-degree videos enhance customer engagement, reduce the uncertainty in the purchase process, and lead to more informed purchase decisions. Everyone wins!

Wondering what type of 360-degree video would work for your business? Shoot us a DM to chat!

For companies in general, video makes it easier to engage your audiences and enhance your brand image on the different platforms they appear on. Brand videos and testimonial videos offer viewers a powerful way to see your story. Your video should have a clear call to action, get people excited about your product or services, and lead them to your website to learn more.

We are happy to share our latest production!

SEFCU and Cap Com Federal Credit Union, two of the region’s largest credit unions decided to merge to join forces this past year, to form Broadview Federal Credit Union. To help introduce the new organization, the marketing team at Broadview came to us to conceptualize and produce an anthemic TV and digital media campaign.

We were thrilled and honored to be part of their rebranding process, and elated with the final spots. Thank you to our production team, who each brought their expertise and passion to bring these spots to life.

“Machines have breached a sacred realm that we thought was solely the domain of people.”

All across the country, we have people striking. Asking for fair wages in this new video streaming form of entertainment, but also ensuring that Ai will not replace their jobs.

While Ai can create art, at this moment, it can not create emotion. It can only attempt to use what it has seen in the past, take a directive, and then try to connect the dots. It does what we as humans have always done: create new things based on what we have learned or seen in the past. In short, we remix it, and so does Ai. The difference is that Ai looks at things in a much more “clinical” and data-driven manner than humans do.

Kirby Ferguson, creator of “Everything is a Remix” an ever-evolving docu-series, touches on this and a lot more in his newest addition to the series. We highly recommend watching:

What is your opinion? Are you afraid, or are you excited by what’s next? Let us know in the comments below.

Joe Wood is a Motion Graphics Artist and Video Editor here at Working Pictures.

One of his favorite aspects? Working Pictures has a large variety of clientele, from corporate to continued learning, to beauty products and more, which is great because it always keeps it interesting!

"My favorite project as of late has been editing for the fashion design students at Thomas Jefferson University. Their work is so vastly different yet all impressive and inspiring. Each students' video stands alone in their own creative world, and yet all fit together so well. I love watching students express their creativity." The goal of this project is to provide a platform for the designers to showcase their talent and creativity and essentially supply each student with a video portfolio of their unique designs. (Pss - see our post on 5/25 for more info.)

"Joe is a huge asset to the company. While his role is primarily in motion graphics, he excels at anything we throw at him from editing and shooting on set. The best part is that he brings positive energy to the team and is one of the funniest guys I know".

How does the writers’ strike affect us locally? As ink runs dry and keyboards fall silent, we find ourselves amidst the brewing storm of the writers' strike. But what exactly does that mean for us?

First and foremost, the writers' strike serves as a powerful reminder of the essential role writers play in shaping our favorite films, TV shows, and even digital content. They craft compelling characters, weave intricate storylines, and breathe life into the worlds we immerse ourselves in.

We cannot begin to execute a creative vision without the roadwork of written word to guide us. Writers are not the only ones affected; it trickles down to actors, crew members, and support staff who call the Capital Region home. The livelihoods of countless individuals become uncertain as projects stall and opportunities dwindle. Once an agreement is reached, there will be a backlog of production to execute which will affect new ideas that must wait until the current backlog is addressed.

The strike also brings into question the impact of AI. Will AI wedge its way into this lull or will we see that creativity cannot simply be manufactured by computers?

Ultimately, we all need a living wage and to be fairly compensated for our work. As streaming services change the impact of compensation, AI looms in the distance and a thirst for content continues. We must remember that any impactful film, show, or media post is lifeless without our writers and that creatives will always be needed to fill that role.

You know that one of the best ways to promote your business is with video. But knowing what's best and having time to DO what's best are two different things. Need another person to bounce ideas off of? At Working Pictures, we not only produce videos, but we can also help you get those creative gears turning.

Those of us here at Working Pictures may not be up on the latest fashion trends or know how to thread a needle, but we sure got up close and personal with the designers from this year’s graduating class of Thomas Jefferson University School of Fashion Design.

Spearheaded by Creative Director, David Moore of CCA Creative Communication Associates, the video project involved capturing the essence of each of the 29 designer’s unique style, inspiration, and creative process through compelling video storytelling.

The goal was to provide a platform for the designers to showcase their talent and creativity, and essentially supplied each student with a video portfolio of their unique designs.

“This project just wouldn’t have been possible without the team at Working Pictures. We were able to tap into their resources at an organizational level, knowing that we were in reliable hands. From project management to editing, creative, and fulfillment, they provided us with support when asked and took the lead when needed. They are so, so much more than technicians or vendors or hired guns. They are powerful storytellers, experienced artists, and trusted creative partners. I’m better at what I do when I work with Working Pictures.” -David A. Moore, Creative Director, CCA | Creative Communication Associates

These videos were completed within a two-month time frame and were showcased at a fashion show held in early May at Jefferson University.

“This is our third year providing video post-production services for this project, and I’m always excited to deliver the final videos. Each one is so unique and captures the student’s personality beautifully. Delivering that number of highly produced videos is invigorating and challenging, but it’s also where our team shines. Our client: "We're hosting a Saturday Night Fever-themed awards ceremony."

Us: "Finally! An excuse to build a disco dance floor!"

Our long-time client, PERMA New York (Public Employees Risk Management Association), is an organization that helps New York State municipalities prevent injuries in the workplace. They host an annual awards show, celebrating cities that have gone above and beyond the regular call of duty for preventing injuries on the job.

As part of the conference, they showcase the winners in a special video. That's where we come in–with our 70s party gear!

We travel throughout NY state to film profiles on each winner. But nobody wants to sit through ANOTHER long talking head interview. To keep things interesting, we built a small disco set in studio and captured PERMA employees getting down on the dance floor and giving us their best Travolta moves.

This was a fun reminder that company events don't have to be boring. We can help make your next event this groovy!

We are always excited to see new developments in technology that might help us better our craft. One thing that caught our eye recently, was not something of the future, but of something from the past.

Christopher Nolan's newest film, "Oppenheimer," is a perfect example of a mix of new and old techniques that will definitely be explosive. Nolan partnered with Kodak to create black and white IMAX film stock for the movie, which demonstrates his belief that film is still the best format for preserving movies.

In a world where we can now shoot slow motion with our cell phones, in the 1940’s, in order to film the nuclear tests, they used very specific “Rotary Prism Cameras”, which featured a rotating 4-sided prism, to help capture the slow motion they needed to scientifically study the atomic blasts. Nolan has breathed new life into these cameras which have not been utilized in a long period of time, to recreate the look and feel of the atomic blasts as they were all those years ago.

We can't wait to see the movie, which will be released in July. It's sure to be a blast! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
