Carolina Álvarez Villalobos made another wonderful recording of my "Simple Gifts" arrangement. I am certainly grateful that she is sharing her talent and bringing out the best in my music. This title has been published for several years now and continues to be one of my most popular publications. "Simple Gifts" is written in the expandable form, which means it can be performed using the top four parts if the alto and bass are not available. As the other instruments are added the additional parts introduce a new line, adds to the harmony or strengthens another part. Here is a link to the YouTube recording of this lovely rendition.

Carolina Álvarez Villalobos recorded another one of my arrangements and did a fantastic job as usual. Here is her recording of Una Fiesta de Canciones Folklóricas. Since this is an expandable arrangement it works successfully as a quartet using the top four parts if the alto and bass are not available for any reason.

Here is another beautiful recording of my arrangement, "Dona Nobis Pacem", for flute quartet performed by Carolina Álvarez Villalobos. This is scored for 2 "C" flutes, alto and bass. It is still playable using 4 "C" flutes if the alto and bass are not available. Substitute parts are included with the publication.

Here is a really nice recording of my arrangement "Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home?" by Hughie Cannon. Since this work is written in the expandable form, it can be used as a basic quartet or up to a full flute choir. The additional parts add to the harmony, reinforce another part or introduce a new line. The expandable arrangements are extremely versatile and useful in any situation. Carolina Álvarez Villalobos is a member of the flute choir Flutissimo from Germany. She is an excellent flutist and did a great job making this recording.

I have recently been posting my flute choir arrangements on a regular basis. Here is a different type of composition titled "Winsey" written back in 1995 for piccolo and piano. This was composed to feature a student on the end of the year school concert while I was teaching in the Princeton Public Schools in Princeton, NJ. The flutist really was hoping for the first chair position in our advanced band, which I awarded to another. Since a piccoloist was needed in the ensemble, this solo was created as a feature on the final concert of the year. Her name was "Lindsey". The title, "Winsey" was a mutual collaboration. The recording in this video was made by Kim Won-sik (Piccolo) and Soengnam Chamber Hall (Piano) from Korea.

I am continuing to post recordings of my compositions/arrangements by flute ensembles that have done excellent performances. Here is an original composition with three movements titled "Latino Contemp". This performance by the Raleigh Flute Choir took place in March of 2018 when I was the guest composer for the RAFA (Raleigh Area Flute Association) flute choir day. The three movements with translations are 1) Con Vida "With Life" 2) Mi Amor "My Love" 3) Ole "Bravo, Well Done!".

As mentioned earlier I am continuing to share YouTube recordings of some of my arrangements/compositions. This original work was composed in 2008 and is titled "Traffic Jam". A lighthearted composition that musically sets the tone of driving in a congested city portraying some of the environmental experiences that one encounters as a driver or passenger. This is fun!

Here is a terrific YouTube recording of my arrangement of "The Prayer". This is an exceptionally good flute choir and their performance is stellar. It is a pleasure to hear my arrangement played so well by a great ensemble with outstanding flutists. They are to be congratulated along with their conductor. The church where the performance took place is beautiful with perfect acoustics. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have. Enjoy!!!

Introducing "Postcards From London" that was commissioned by the "Opal Flutes" from London, England. The movements are based on three famous London landmarks. This composition was premiered December 13, 2020 on a vitural concert, during the Covid-19 pandemic, which featured only my arrangements and compositions. It is now available as a publication.
