NOTICE OF CHANGES.....My mentor Beth at K9 Designs posted this and I thought it would be great to share for my clients. Dog groomers in the State of Iowa must be licensed thru the Iowa Department of Agriculture. We have rules to follow and if we don't we have consequences. I don't have $1000 a day laying around to pay for not following these rules. If I don't have current vaccinations for your furkid BEFORE THE DAY OF GROOM, I WILL NOT be grooming them. Look I know that I have "spoiled" most and have gotten them myself and added to Paw Partner for you, but as of now, today 8/5/2024.. it is no longer my responsibility to contact vet offices for YOUR dogs vaccinations to be updated with Rockin The Paws. You can either upload them in Paw Partner, or you or your vet office can email them to me at [email protected]. (And if you want me to get a vet record, there will be an additional $5.00 charge). And if I don't have them before the appointment, your appointment won't happen that day, you will have to reschedule to the next available appointment and you WILL BE CHARGED the price of grooming appointment which will need to be paid before next groom. Any questions or concerns.. please let me know. Thank you for your understanding!

Let's talk about licensing!!
All commercial kennels (boarding and grooming) facilities operating in the state of Iowa MUST be licensed. We get inspected yearly to make sure we are following all Iowa codes and regulations. Failure to be licensed can be up to $1000 fine, and can be fined for every day you are operating without a license. K9 Designs follows all state regulations and have NEVER gotten a "non compliant" in the 11 years of being open. In fact I have been grooming for 35 years and have never gotten a non compliance. I am extremely picky about our disease prevention protocalls and biosecurity. If anyone asks if we are lisenced I have no problem showing them my verification.
Please make sure that the groomer/boarding facility you choose to use are licensed. If they are not they could be jeopardizing the safety of your pets.
If you are unsure if your facilty is licensed you can got to the Iowa Department of Agricultural and Land Stewardship website click on licensed business directories, under animals and livestock click on licensed companion animal facilities, then
enter in the information, then click on filter.
Or just enter in the county then filter.
Please make sure your animal provider is licensed. If they are not what are they hiding.

I had the honor and pleasure ro meet Michelle and Grim! Let me tell ya, she is an amazing RockStar dog momma!! She isn't a groomer here folks..she is a dog mom, who takes care of her fur boy's coat daily! She understands the importance of it and take that time out of her day to run that comb thru and make sure there is no matting. You don't need a table and all, while laying on the couch or floor watching TV with your furkid, run the brush and comb thru the coat, not just the top but the legs and chest, tail all over and to the skin! You don't have to be a groomer to care for your dogs coat..be like Michelle! Let's do better!

Schnauzer Mafia Trio ..these three always make me laugh.. Koda and Bella will always make noises like someone is here while I am grooming Mini..so I always get these little trio singing. Ohh Schnauzers!❤️

One thing I find so dang annoying is when I see people (normally in a bigger town) walking their dogs on a steamy day during the hottest time on the sidewalk or street! Hello ding dongs! That is hot on their paws and that is where their sweat glands are and that will make them even hotter quicker! They don't have sweat glands on their body like us. They are on their paw pads and nose. So when u want to go for a walk at noon on a hot day with your dog...don't take your dog!

Thank You friend! Now for me to get this thru my head as the groomer to charge my worth.But this is true..our time, supplies, wear on our equipment and also our bodies, even all the time of clean up, utilities, education we receive to be better to do better for our clients. We are worth more than what society says we are!

So my main dancing partner King Triton and I decided to show off our moves again..and this is my jam so I had to sing to him.. yep this voice is all natural..lol.. no auto tune here baby! I love how he is looking at the camera like look at me..he loves it!! Or maybe he is looking at the camera like help me she is singing to me again! 🤣 anyway this is us! 💃🕺🎤🐾❤️
