The Tracy Police Department is pleased to announce that its new Red-Light Traffic Safety Program is operational today and will begin issuing warnings for anyone caught running a red light in several high-risk locations. The program will begin with the activation of the red-light camera at the intersection of 11th Street and Corral Hollow Road, with additional cameras being rolled out as construction is completed at other intersections.

Over the coming weeks, six red light cameras will be placed in several directions along the following intersections:
🚦 Tracy Boulevard and 11th Street
🚦 International Parkway and West Schulte Road
🚦 Naglee Road and Grant Line Road

Vehicles caught running a red light during the warning period will receive a notice in the mail alerting them to their illegal act and reminding them about the importance of staying alert. After a 30-day warning period, the program will begin issuing citations to violators. After the warning period ends, fines for illegal red-light running will be sent to the vehicle's registered owner. The fine amount will be included in the citation.

The City of Tracy contracted with Verra Mobility, a leader in speed safety technology, to administer this safety program. The cameras will capture images of vehicle license plates and send them through secure video. Personnel from the Tracy Police Department will verify each infraction before a fine is issued.

On February 3, 2025, the Tracy Police Department was alerted to an inappropriate relationship between a juvenile and an adult that they had met online but were familiar with from a church that they both attend in Hayward. An officer assigned to patrol conducted a thorough investigation of the allegations and forwarded the report to the Tracy Police Department General Investigations Unit (GIU) to continue the investigation.

During the investigation, the victim disclosed that they had been sexually assaulted on multiple occasions between December 2024 and January 2025 in Tracy. Based on the information provided, the suspect was identified as Jeremy Sanchez-Albino (37 years old from Tracy). With assistance from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Special Enforcement Team (SET), Sanchez-Albino was taken into custody without incident on February 4, 2025. Following Sanchez-Albino’s arrest, GIU, SIU, and SET served a search warrant at his residence.

At this time, there is no information to suggest that there are additional victims.

Sanchez-Albino was arrested for PC 288.3(A) - Contacting a Minor to Commit a Felony, PC 261.5(A) – Unlawful Sexual In*******se with a Minor, PC 287(b)(1) – Oral Copulation with a Person Under 18, and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

This is an ongoing investigation, anyone with information is encouraged to contact Tracy Police Detective Badr Fayyaz at [email protected] or 209-831-6966.

If you or someone you know is a survivor of sexual assault and need someone to talk to, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline by calling +1 (800) 656-4673 or chat online by visiting hotline.rainn.org/online.

🚔 FLOCK ALERT ➡️ PURSUIT ➡️ SUSPECTS TAKE FLIGHT (LITERALLY) 🚔

Last night, our officers were alerted by a Flock Safety ALPR (Automated License Plate Reader) to a stolen vehicle cruising through town. We quickly located the car, but the driver had other plans—leading us on a pursuit through Tracy before ditching the ride near Grant Line Rd. & Corral Hollow Rd.

Thinking they could outrun the long arm of the law, the two suspects—both juveniles—decided to test their parkour skills by hopping fences through the neighborhood. Enter the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Air Support Association, who had a literal bird’s-eye view of the action. One suspect was spotted mid-fence-hop, probably realizing too late that gravity is undefeated.

With some solid teamwork on the ground and in the sky, both juveniles were caught and booked into juvenile hall.

🚁 Huge shoutout to the Stanislaus County Sheriff Air Unit for the assist! Moral of the story: If you steal a car and try to run, the only Flock that’ll help you… is ours.

AUSTIN RD OVERCROSSING CLOSURE & AUSTIN RD CLOSURE

The Austin Road overcrossing is scheduled to be removed, and Austin Road will be closed to allow critical construction on San Joaquin Council of Governments’ (SJCOG) State Route 99/120 Connector project.

Please plan ahead. Detours will be in place around the work for about 18 months and directions can be found in the map. Work is scheduled to begin Feb. 2, but is subject to change without notice due to inclement weather or other factors. Travelers in this area should pay attention to posted signs and slowdown in the cone zone.

Austin Road will also be closed to through traffic Feb. 2-7 from West Ripon Road to Moffat Boulevard for related irrigation work. Only local traffic will be allowed on Austin Road.

Once completed, the SR 99/120 Connector project will improve safety, ease traffic congestion, enhance mobility and goods movement, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for better air quality.
