Hello! Just wanted to post an update on what’s happened and why WSGM is off the air.
Some time early Monday morning we believe there was a lightening strike close to the station that caused some kind of power surge that knocked out the transmitter and damaged a part within. We will need to get that part replaced before we can use the transmitter again. We are praying that it may just be a couple of days, but with it being a holiday we aren’t sure.
Please keep the station in your prayers that this can be fixed ASAP and thank you for your patience and understanding!
We know that God is bigger than all our problems and He will make a way!
WSGM Radio
Update: Unfortunately, it’s worse than we thought, it also affected our broadcast console, so now we are also looking into having to fix or replace that as well. We really need, and would be so thankful, for all your prayers at this time.
Update 6/3/24:
We are still trying to assess the damage to our transmitter, so unfortunately, we still don’t have an answer as to when we will be back on the air.
It has been a slow process to go through so we really appreciate all the phone calls and all the prayers that have been said on our behalf.
Please don’t give up on us as we are definitely going to be back on the air, hopefully sooner than later!
This will be costly for our radio station which is already operating on a tight budget so along with your prayers, if you or anyone you know would like to make a contribution toward the cost of repair, you can go to Citizens Tri-County Bank and ask to make a donation to Cumberland Communications Corporation, anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding and God bless you all!
Psalm 37:5. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
