In my basement I have a 1976 Fisher 2 door wood stove, papa bear? My question is: it has an 8 inch stove pipe and we ran it into a 1976 masonary chimney flue for many years. We did have a couple chimney fires with that setup. I had my fireplace insert flue lined with an insulated 6 inch liner and cap. I’m thinking before I fire up the Fisher again (15 years) I should also have its chimney lined with a stainless steel insulted 6 inch liner. What are your thoughts? Am I on the right track?

I see a lot of posts with people with franklin stoves, the ones popularized by late colonial revival style and the bicentennial are all over the place as we know but anyone else running actual 19th century franklins? Theres just something about a franklin I really enjoy.

Glass Window Blowout...
My neighbor and I both have the same Harman wood stove. He told me that one day the front door glass blew out on to the floor, along with sparks and coals, almost catching the house on fire.
He says that other people with glass windows in their stoves have had their glass break and blow out too.
What the Heck?!
How worried should I be?
What do you know on this?
I feel like I can't leave the house at all, even just to go work in the shop.
What's your experience?
