The Tuesday evening fire at 145th and Parallel is considered accidental, though the exact cause is still unknown.

Chuck Magaha, chief of the Fairmount Township Fire Department, said there were several explosions associated with the fire due to the products in the business’s warehouse, though no injuries were reported.

BLHS volleyball players earn All-KVL honors | BasehorInfo.com

Several Basehor-Linwood volleyball players were recognized by the Kaw Valley League coaches.

The Basehor-Linwood volleyball team had an excellent season, finishing with a 26-12 overall record and appearance in the sub-state finals. The Lady Bobcats fell to eventual Class 4A-I state champion Bishop Miege in that match.

Fiddler on the Roof debuts at the BLHS Auditorium Thursday night at 7 p.m.!

Showtimes are as follows:
Thursday - 7 p.m.
Saturday - 7 p.m.
Sunday - 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

*Note: because the football team is still in the post-season, Friday's musical has been moved to Sunday at 7 p.m. All Friday tickets already purchased will be honored for the Sunday evening performance.

If you saw our article last week about a dispute between two downtown Bonner cafes leading to one of them seeking a new location — they found that location in Basehor.

Tracy Smith, co-owner, said that he has signed a three-year lease at 15510 State Avenue, Suite 1B. Some remodeling has to be completed, so Smith said he hopes to open the first week in December. He said he will be posting updates online at Facebook.com/perkyscafekc.

Basehor will have a new council member as of Monday with the resignation of Brian Healy, who is moving from the area.

Councilman Brian Healy resigned from his council seat effective Monday, stating that he will be relocating to Arizona. Healy had served the city as both a councilman and planning commission member for the past six years.

The Basehor-Linwood football team pulled out a thrilling victory over Louisburg in the Class 4A-I playoffs on Friday night.

Eric Scott is the reigning Class 4A high jump bronze medalist, so when the football came in his direction on the final drive of Basehor-Linwood’s regional playoff game against Louisburg, he utilized his greatest strength to put his team’s victory on ice.
