School starts on Tuesday, August 20 and these teachers are ready to Go for the Gold in the 24-25 school year! We can’t wait to see our students!!

The Topic was there when a piece of local history was removed from Isabel's skyline on Tuesday with the destruction of one of the two old elevators on the south side of the community.

They are owned by CHS Harvest States and were last used in 2010. Both structures were condemned shortly thereafter.

Believed to have been built between 1912-1918, the west elevator was brought down with precision by Miller Construction of Isabel. The east elevator is slated for demolition next week. (Topic photos by Jon Flatland)

Nina Schumacher of rural Timber Lake shared this great photo of a storm front moving through the area earlier this week. Nina reports this system produced high winds, then absolute stillness, followed by heavy rain and pea size hail. Thanks for sharing Nina!

Whew ... Timber Lake's Days of 1910 is in the the books and it was another amazing event. This week' sneak peek highlights just some of our coverage of it.

It's Isabel's turn to shine with its celebration and rodeo this weekend and we'll be in Faith for its celebration and the oldest rodeo in the state the weekend after that!

Is there any wonder why these are three of our favorite weeks out of the year?

(All photos by Jon Flatland/Timber Lake Topic) While the new arena configuration in Timber Lake is better for competitors in timed events, it's less than ideal for photographers as we end up shooting into the sun. The best bet for timed event photos was during Sunday slack - however - Sunday morning is when I volunteer in the breakfast shack, so I apologize there aren't more timed event photos. I'll focus on some of those this weekend. - Jon

We’re at the 25th annual Coal Springs Threshing Show today for the parade and more!

It’s Family Night at the Timber Lake vs Harding County volleyball season opener!

The first sections of pre-fab walls are being unloaded on Main Street of TL today for the new headquarters of Moreau-Grand Electric.

We’re at the Isabel Rodeo Grounds this morning for slack … stop out for the action and get the best breakfast burritos you’ll find anywhere!

It’s a beautiful morning for the Isabel Airport Fly-In pancake and sausage breakfast … by 9 am 20 airplanes and helicopters had landed!

A small wagon train is currently making its way from south of Faith to the Coal Springs Threshing & Antique Show (follow them on Facebook) in Meadow. The show kicks off this afternoon and continues through Sunday. The wagon train is expected to arrive in Meadow on Saturday morning.
