***HIGH SURF WARNING***

A High Surf Warning (more severe than an advisory) has been issued for the southern Oregon coast from 10am Monday, February 24th through 10am Tuesday, February 25th.

Extremely large breaking waves of 27 to 32 feet are expected. These will create hazardous conditions along surf zones and low lying shorelines.

Waves will inundate beaches. STAY OFF jetties and logs. NEVER turn your back on the Ocean.

Watch from a safe location such as the bluff overlooking Bastendorff Beach or from the Observation Bldg at Shore Acres State Park.

Wild Coast Film Festival is a benefit for the Wildlife Center of the North Coast, a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and conservation education center based in Astoria, Oregon. https://www.wildcoastfilm.org/

WCNC rescues and rehabilitates injured, sick, orphaned, and displaced native wildlife, with the goal of releasing healthy, strong creatures back into their appropriate habitat.

Through our education programs, WCNC staff and volunteers teach their community about the significance of wildlife and ecological balance, nurturing a respect and understanding for the natural world.
