Excited to partner with Village of Mendon, and work with Michigan State Housing Development Authority to get Community Development Block Grant 💰 money. After the presentation tonight (MAR10) the council voted unanimously to take my recommendations and apply for ‘MI Neighborhood’ $200,00 in home rehab dollars.

HOUSING UPDATE: Podcast Interview
*Disclaimer: I work for St. Joseph County. While I come alongside different group, companies, municipalities, & organizations...I don't intend to take credit for what is usually many people and many years of hard work. In this program I refer to "we" as coordinated effort to get more housing, but not to infer I am responsible for or taking credit for or even have a direct connection to any specific organization or company. There is no official plan in place for a continuation of my position when the contract expires this July. I briefly mention the idea of maybe coming under the Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County, Michigan umbrella, but at this time this has only been a possible suggestion (amongst other), and a little wishful thinking. Listening back to the program, Dr Jay brings up his passion for the St. Joseph County Veteran Services and his relationship with Director Stoney Summey. I have known Stoney for several years and of course want to support any VA housing.. This program and my words may make it sound like some of the projects are more dependent on me then they really are. I am only bring suggestion, sharing potential resources, and offer assistance in a much bigger long-running plan for VA housing in SJCounty. It is never my intention to take credit for other peoples work or efforts. If it ever comes across that way or if there is ever any question about my involvement with a project or entity, please feel free to reach out directly.

It was exciting to see the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation board and the Sturgis Area Community Foundation board share about their partnership. Thank you Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce for hosting this BAH!

It was encouraging to see other community partners there like Downtown Three Rivers DDA, Rooted of St. Joseph County, Hope United, Constantine Rotary Club, Constantine Area Community Foundation, Three Rivers City Hall, R & R Trailers, Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Century Bank and Trust, and more!
