Larch Creek Fire Evacuation Update | 11:00 AM

LEVEL 3 - GO NOW: From Friend Rd in the north, east to Elliott Rd and the intersection of Dufur Gap Rd and Hwy 197. From the intersection of Dufur Gap Rd and Hwy 197 south to the Shadybrook Rd. From the intersection of Happy Ridge Rd and Mc Corkle in the west to the intersection of Shadybrook Rd and Hwy 197 in the southeast.

LEVEL 2 - GET SET
• **NEW** Wamic & Pine Hollow area from Happy Ridge Rd in the north down to Rock Creek Dam Rd/Wamic Market Rd. in the south, west to Threemile Rd. The intersection of Threemile Rd & Campbell Ln. in the west to Hwy 197 in the east. This area has been lowered from Level 3.
• From the intersection of Threemile Rd & Campbell Ln. west to Rock Creek Reservoir and south to the White River and east to Campbell Ln.

LEVEL 1 - GET READY
• **NEW** From the west side of the City of Tygh Valley west to the intersection of Rock Creek Dam Rd. and Campbell Ln., south to the White River, east the intersection to Juniper Flat Rd. and Hwy 197., north to the intersection of Hwy 197 and Tygh Valley Rd. This area was lowered from Level 2.
• from Hwy 197, south to Hulse Rd, east to the Deschutes River, and from the intersection of Hwy 197 and Tygh Valley Market Rd, southeast to the Deschutes River.

Although residences in Pine Hollow have been lowered to Level 2, recreation on the reservoir remains closed because of continued operations and weather. We will reassess the morning of Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Fire crews are still in the area. Please give them space and patience as they continue to work on the incident.

The evacuation shelter at the Wy'East Middle School in Hood River will remain open.

UNDERSHERIFF KNOPES WITH SHERIFF SONGER UPDATE

Klickitat County Sheriff Bob Songer was transported to Klickitat Valley Health on Friday, July 12, 2024, with what appeared to be stroke symptoms.

Sheriff Songer was evaluated at Klickitat Valley Health and was eventually transported to a Portland hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Sheriff Songer will likely be released to come home within the next few days.

As Sheriff’s Songer’s Undersheriff, I have been receiving daily updates from Sheriff Songer. I am happy to report that he has been walking around, eating, drinking coffee, and is ready to come home.

I don’t believe this minor medical event will deter Sheriff Songer from working long hours, attending numerous meetings across the county including Posse and Posse Scout meetings, as well as the numerous events that he regularly attends throughout the year.

I would like to express my gratitude to Klickitat County DEM/911, Klickitat County EMS, Klickitat Valley Health, and Life Flight for providing such excellent care.

I would especially like to thank everyone at Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office, Goldendale Police Department, Bingen-White Salmon Police Department, and Washington State Patrol for all the phone calls and messages concerning Sheriff Songer.

Wasco County Survey Teams will be out and about in the community dropping off well testing kits to those affected by the Larch Creek Fire. Kits are also available for pick up at the Commercial Building of the Wasco County Fairgrounds.

Staff from North Central Public Health District will be located in the Commercial Building between 10 AM - 12 PM Tuesday through Friday to collect samples to be transported to the lab in The Dalles.

Larch Creek Fire Evacuation Update | 10:00 AM

LEVEL 2 - GET SET from Hulse Rd in the north, to the White River in the south, east to the Deschutes River and west to Hwy 197. From the west side of the City of Tygh Valley to the intersection of Wamic Market Rd and Fairgrounds Rd., north to the intersection of Fairgrounds Rd. and Shadybrook Rd., east to Hwy 197 and the Deschutes River, from Hwy 197 in the north to the White River in the south. This area has been lowered from a Level 3.

LEVEL 1 - GET READY from Hwy 197, south to Hulse Rd, east to the Deschutes River, and from the intersection of Hwy 197 and Tygh Valley Market Rd, southeast to the Deschutes River. This area has been lowered from Level 2.

LEVEL 1 EVACUATION DROPPED from the west border of Val Miller Rd and north border to the White River. South border of Old Wapinitia Rd., and from intersection of Old Wapinitia Rd. to the Deschutes River at a northeast direction. North border is Oak Spring Rd on the east side of Hwy 197. This area has been dropped from a Level 1.

Evacuation levels on the westside of the fire will remain in place for Monday, July 15. Sheriff Magill is confident in the operations but still has concern for citizens in that area. We will re-evaluate the situation tomorrow. For folks in updated evacuation level areas, it is important to continue to stay aware because there is always a possibility for levels to increase again.

Fire crews are still in the area so please give them space and patience as they continue to work on the incident.

The evacuation shelter at the Maupin High School will be closing at 12 PM. The evacuation shelter at the Wy'East Middle School in Hood River will remain open.
