Missing Person Update:

ALMA, Arkansas -- Using new DNA methods, authorities have determined that a prior suspect in the disappearance of six-year-old Morgan Nick in 1995 is now the key suspect in the case.

Police say hair samples retrieved more than two decades after Nick's disappearance, found in a red truck once owned by suspect Billy Jack Lincks, place Nick in the vehicle. Lincks died in 2000, and Alma Police Chief Jeff Pointer said in a media conference Tuesday, they will be interviewing and re-interviewing his known associates to gain insight into his activities.

Morgan Nick Disappeared June 9, 1995 while at a little league game in Alma, Arkansas. She had gone to catch fireflies with some of the children at the game, and was last seen in the parking lot nearby. Children, when questioned, reported seeing a creepy man talking to the child just before she disappeared, according to news sources.

Lincks was arrested in August of 1995 on allegations of sexual solicitation of an 11 year-old girl in Van Buren Arkansas. Pointer said he attempted to lure the girl into his red truck. Lincks was questioned about Nick's disappearance but denied any involvment.

Colleen Nick, Morgan Nick's mother remarked in the press conference Tuesday morning, that "he [Billy Jack Lincks] stole Morgan from me, her dad, Logan and Taryn. He didn’t see that he could never win. Because our love for Morgan – her memory, her voice – outlasted his life. And that love continues to shine. Morgan’s heart shines on.”

Alma Police are asking that anyone with information that could help resolve this case, please call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST
(1-800-843-5678).
