UPDATE: Cesar Olalde, age 18, has been identified as the suspect in the deaths of four people in Nash, Texas Tuesday. He is charged with capital murder of multiple persons. Olalde's bond has been set at $10 million. He remains at the Bi-State Detention Center in Texarkana.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Cesar killed his parents, Reuben Olalde and Aida Garcia along with older sister Lisbet Olalde and younger brother Oliver Olalde.

The affidavit said each family member had been shot repeatedly, and police found multiple spent cartridges on the floor. It appeared they had been shot in different locations within the home and then moved to the bathroom.

When Lisbet Olalde did not show up for work, a coworker became concerned and went to the Olalde home where he and a family member were able to gain entry to the house when no one answered the door. They were met by Cesar Olalde who reportedly had a gun and told them he had killed his family because they "were cannibals and were trying to eat him."

A family member has set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses.

NASH, Texas -- Four people are dead and a man is in police custody following reports Tuesday of a person barricaded in a house.

The names and ages of the victims and of the arrested man have not been released.

Bowie Sheriff Jeff Neal said the man was arrested as he spoke with negotiators outside the house on Lemon Acres. The sheriff earlier said the man had been armed.

Multiple law enforcement agencies mobilized at the scene, which is on a quiet cul-de-sac.

This is a developing story.

Warrants have been issued for four men in connection to a shooting in Texarkana, Arkansas late Sunday that allegedly resulted in the death of a 24-year-old man and injury to a six-year-old child.

The suspects are listed as Daequeon "Quando" Williams, Tamarion McCoy, Chris Tyler and Kolby Hemphill. All are from the Texarkana area, said TAPD Corporal, Les Munn. Each of the men are charged with murder and discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, said Munn.

Munn said TAPD has attempted to locate and make contact with these individuals, however none were located.

“We would like to encourage them to turn themselves in to the police department at the Bi State Justice Center. If anyone knows the location of any of these subjects please call 911,” Munn said.

There have been at least seven overdoses from synthetic ma*****na (K2) - including two deaths - in the Texarkana area in the last few days. We're working hard to figure out where this tainted batch came from before someone else dies.

Synthetic ma*****na (which is not ma*****na at all) is a very dangerous drug already. We always strongly encourage everyone to steer completely clear of it - but that is especially important right now.

DODDRIDGE, Ark — Volunteer firefighters in Miller County freed two people trapped in a home Thursday evening that had collapsed as a result of a tornado that touched down there, reported Miller County Emergency Officials.

The home was located along Miller County 152, just outside of Doddridge, said Michael Godfrey Director of the Miller County Office of Emergency Management. Firefighters made sure the pair were out safely around 7 p.m. before beginning the process of clearing debris on roadways, he said.

The twister took about seven minutes to form near the south end of the Miller county line before traveling northward along the highway 237 corridor at roughly 55 miles per hour, said Godfrey. He added a large uprooted tree blocking Highway 237 (also known as Blackman Ferry Road) just north of the Sulphur River and South of Fouke took about 45 minutes to clear.

Preliminary observations from emergency crews out surveying damage reported downed tree limbs along Tennessee Road in Texarkana, Arkansas. However, emergency officials said there appeared to be no structural damage to buildings in that area.

The Miller County twister spun up Thursday as discreet supercell thunderstorms developed in the region around the early evening hours. The storms rolled across parts of east Texas, northwest Louisiana and southwest Arkansas.

This is a developing story.

ATLANTA - An Adopt-A-Highway group in Cass County has been named 2022’s Group of the Year.

The group, Atlanta State Park Employees, was recognized for showing “remarkable dedication to the program,” according to a media statement issued by TxDot.

“This group has been on a mission since they formed in 2006,” said TxDOT Atlanta District Adopt-A-Highway Coordinator Stephanie Fahrney. The 11-member group adopted the road leading to their park’s entrance on FM 1154, starting at FM 96. “Members of this group not only put in the work, they’re also a voice for the Adopt-A-Highway program,” Fahrney said. “Each day they are visited by many people, young and old. Each time they receive a compliment on their beautiful park, they use that as a stepping stone to share how and why their park is indeed beautiful.”

The Adopt-A-Highway program began in Texas in 1985 and since then, has grown into a nationally and internationally recognized litter-prevention effort. The program allows volunteers to adopt stretches of state-maintained roadway to conduct litter pickups. Adopt-A-Highway currently has about 3,400 volunteer groups across Texas.

“This group treats each visitor like family and encourages everyone to take part in the beautification process. They make it easy by making sure the park is fully supplied with trash cans, barrels and dumpsters. Their commitment shows others they won’t give up. They will always be there to clean up the mess, literally, that others make, without hesitation,” Fahrney said.

Anyone interested in volunteering in the Adopt-A-Highway program can contact Stephanie Fahrney at (903) 799-1201.
