This year is full of new possibilities, new hope, and new ways to become the person we want to be. Life can get busy and this is the time to slow down and reflect on what matters in your life and what lies ahead.

There are big and small things happening to everyone every minute of the day. Hold on to those. Pray for those. Be kind not only to others but also to yourself. Let this year bring hope for something better. Learn something new. Create something amazing.

As 2026 begins, I am stepping into a new role with the magazine that I have loved for so long. I am excited for this opportunity and ready for the year to be great! I’m thankful for Debbie and her encouragement and constant love. ALT Magazine will continue to be the best!

Let this chapter be kind and gentle. Do not rush anything. Take your time and let God create great things.

I am available through my email [email protected] or through this page!

As the new year begins, I’m making changes to ensure both the continued strength of ALT and my work/life balance. As most of you know, this past year, I got my real estate license and I absolutely love this new chapter of my life!

With that said, after careful consideration, I’ve decided to step back from my day-to-day role at ALT so I can focus on myself, enjoying life and my new real estate adventure. This will allow me to take the time needed to help my back, which as many of you know has become a health issue for me, by not sitting at a desk for hours at a time every day —while ensuring the magazine remains in excellent hands. I will continue with my real estate business, which will keep me as busy as I want to be, but not sitting at a computer all day long. This will also allow me to travel more often and visit family and friends. (I'm getting older, you know! At this stage of my life, I need this! LOL)

Beginning with the February issue, my longtime editor, Alyssa Jensen, will be stepping into the lead role. Alyssa has worked closely with me for more than ten years and knows ALT inside and out. She has been instrumental to our success, and I have complete confidence that she will continue to deliver the quality, consistency, and care you’ve come to expect.

I will, of course, remain available should you need anything or have questions during this transition. Most importantly, ALT is not missing a beat.

Your support has meant so much to me over the years, and I sincerely hope you will continue your partnership with ALT as we move forward - and call me for your real estate needs! We truly value your business and your trust.

Thank you for everything you’ve done to support me and ALT. I look forward to seeing you soon. Alyssa’s email is [email protected], in case you don’t already have it. Show you her support by contacting her about ads in the upcoming issue. She deserves all the support you can show!

Wishing you a Happy New Year.

Josh Davis: A Life of Service, Leadership, and Commitment to Bowie County

by: Michelle Horton Bowie County, Texas, has long been known for its tight-knit communities, natural beauty, and hardworking residents. Among those striving to make the county a better place is Josh Davis, a lifelong Texarkana resident and public servant whose career spans firefighting, local government, tax administration, and now, a campaign for Bowie County Judge. Running for the 2026 election, Davis brings decades of experience, a servant’s heart, and a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of his fellow citizens....
