Creating a movie to play on the Washington Monument is like producing content to project on a pencil. . . made even more complex in that all four sides of the monument — top-to-bottom — were projector mapped, enabling our editors to “wrap” motion graphics around the monument’s corners for breathtaking visual effects.
DCE Productions proudly accepted the challenge to provide creative direction and video content production to kick-off the country’s 250th birthday for this large-scale projection mapping experience. Our creative team produced a fully custom 20-minute program featuring original graphic and motion design, art direction and sound design that was projected on the monument beginning on New Year’s Eve and running for six nights. The result created an unforgettable moment seen by millions, earning more than 736 media mentions and reaching an audience of over 425 million viewers worldwide.
