“My longtime drum tech, John Walsh, (he started working for YES in 1999 on "The Ladder" tour) recently went back to NY to visit family.

While in East Hampton, his brother-in-law, Mike, got a phone call from the manager of a private studio. The manager was in desperate need of some drumsticks, as the musician who showed up for the recording session didn’t have his own.

John had given Mike a pair of my signature sticks years ago, so Mike hustled down to the studio to drop them off. Mike and John thought it was odd that a drummer would show up to a session without his own drumsticks. We later found out that this musician was not a full time drummer. Turns out, it was…
