As the Manuscript Midwife, I’ve walked alongside women who are called to birth something powerful—books that will impact lives, shift perspectives, and spread God’s word. But here’s what I’ve learned from this journey:
There’s a difference between wanting to write a book and allowing God to write it through you.
Many of the women I work with feel the urgency—they know there’s a message inside them. They’ve prayed about it, dreamed about it, maybe even started outlining ideas.
But here’s the truth:
Writing the book God has called you to write isn’t about hustle. It’s about surrendering to His timing, His voice, and His strategy.
When you try to push or force the process, you lose the flow of divine inspiration.
But when you embrace rest and trust God’s lead, the words begin to flow effortlessly.
Here’s the bottom line:
Writing the book God has called you to write is not about striving. It’s about resting in His timing, His guidance, and His grace. When you write from a place of faith and rest, you stop pushing and start allowing the Holy Spirit to move through you, bringing the message He wants to birth through your pen.

This was a pivotal question I posed to the aspiring authors who sought my guidance at 120 Publishing House. Understanding the difference is crucial, as each path creates distinctly different outcomes in the marketplace.

We,120 Publishing House turned 1 years old in business a few weeks ago, and if I'm being honest, I kind of let imposter syndrome keep me from fully celebrating it. To be honest, going from homeless to harvesting many of the accomplishments that took place in this business took me on a journey of uncovering trauma and dealing with triumph at the same time, and it was a STRETCH I still bare the marks of.
The Bible teaches us to 'despise not small beginnings,' and truly, we started humbly. This past year as I've fully embraced the role of Founder while learning how to be a CEO at 120 Publishing House, I've seen firsthand why God is calling solopreneurs out of isolation and into the power of collaboration and teamwork.
This journey has stretched me beyond the title of CEO to truly embody the essence of a FOUNDER, taking ownership of new territories with both humility and courage. It’s been a profound year of growth but not without its challenges. While I am blessed with gifts and talents in many areas, I quickly realized that my spiritual and emotional maturity needed to catch up with the responsibilities I had taken on.
My role demanded more than business savvy; it required deepening my understanding of business relationships and stewarding the connections with the incredible clients and partnerships God entrusted to me. This process exposed unhealed areas within me, revealing a spirit of mammon and lingering poverty mindset that affected how I interacted with others. I learned hard lessons about boundaries—both respecting others' and establishing my own.
This year wasn't just about business growth but personal transformation. I confronted my fears of abandonment and rejection, realizing that having faith in business meant nothing without robust follow-up and accountability. As I navigated these internal battles, God allowed us to achieve significant milestones, even as He built me up from broken places. When the pressure of 'bleeding while building' became overwhelming, He taught me the invaluable lesson of rest and the necessity of a reset to prepare for the next levels promised.
With all the bestsellers and business accolades, the achievements I hold dearest are the breakthrough moments that unfolded behind the scenes. These instances of profound personal growth have shaped me more significantly than any title or award ever could. To Charvette Shirk Pitt, Kiameshea Prewitt, Tiara Busterand Avery Burrel Jr. who has held me accountable with truth and love, guiding me through these transformative experiences, I extend my deepest gratitude. Thank you for being a part of my journey, for your steadfast support, and for helping me become not just a better leader, but a better person.
I am profoundly grateful to every author who believed in me and extended grace as I grew into the glory destined for our business. To my partners, thank you for your patience and for sharing your strength during my moments of weakness. I am excited and hopeful for what the next year holds.

Today, I felt a "GOD CAN" in my spirit, and I wanted to inspire and send hope:
To every woman who’s ever built her dream from the ground up, I see you because I am you. I started my business from a library, homeless, and moved by nothing but a word from God. From there, we went from having no place to live to harvesting every promise God spoke over us.
To the woman who finds 'her time' when the house is silent and the world is asleep, know that your sacrifices are seen. I too worked through the night, fueled by faith and a relentless vision.
To the woman sharing her vision while standing in line for food stamps, remember, I stood in those lines too, holding onto a dream bigger than my current reality.
To the woman who has realized that there is a difference between having faith and actively living in it, I walked that line until it became my lifeline.
To the woman who is called to impact greatly, who faces opposition that tries to diminish her promise of abundance, stand firm. I was called to millions before they appeared, and I learned that to manifest God’s promises, I didn’t need to create anything new—I just needed to follow His plan.
To the woman whose greatest dream is to nurture the dreams of others, let’s walk this path together. Your aspirations are valid, your vision is clear, and your purpose is needed.
I am here to tell you that God can and God did. I am living proof that when you partner with the Christ, no vision is too vast, no dream too daring. Let my story be your evidence of hope.
