I jumped. I actually jumped. 👀

And honestly, I never knew it would feel this amazing. 🤗

This past week I made the decision to quit my full-time job as a social media manager and dive head first into my own projects. The truth is, it's been a long time coming. I've been contemplating and planning for a while now, and while it feels great to finally invest in myself, it's still bittersweet (and I'm sure it will be emotional when I sign off for the last time on 10/31/24).

For nearly 6 years, I poured myself into the FlexJobs brand as their Social Media Specialist turned Social Media Manager. In that role, I wore many hats: content strategist, creator, manager, brand influencer, customer care specialist, graphic designer, copywriter, SEO specialist, videographer, researcher, analyst—the list goes on. I loved every second of it while watching our social channels grow from 200K followers across all networks to more than 1.2M. 🥳 This achievement will always stand out as one of the highlights of my career.

Now, as I embrace this change, I'm excited about the opportunity to focus on what truly inspires me while balancing my roles as a mom and military spouse.

What have I discovered in this transition? 💡

The unexpected joy of having fewer distractions has opened up space for creativity. I can brainstorm freely and bring ideas to life instead of letting them fade away because there was simply not enough time. I realized I was allowing opportunities to pass me by while juggling everything. Now, I can manage my time better and achieve results that are bigger than I ever thought possible.

My advice? Listen to yourself. 👂🏼

When you feel that itch for change, don’t ignore it. Create a plan, lean on your support system, and watch your passions come alive. If you feel your heart pounding in the midst of it, it just means you're about to fall even more in love with the next steps.

With that said, I'm always open to helping small businesses enhance their social media presence. I will be creating more items to share in my Etsy shop, and my content creation is about to get even more exciting! I can't wait to share the deals I'm working on with you all. Dear Denis Phillips, thank you for all you do to keep us safe in the Tampa Bay Area and beyond. I have a request. A pre-written template targeted for family outside of the state of Florida who are getting their weather updates from national news networks. Kinda like a "doctor's note" to explain our decisions.
It would really help calm the anxiety that's at an all-time high at the moment! 🫠
