ELEVATING STORIES OF THE EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN IN OUR COMMUNITIES
The 906 is a podcast series co-hosted by lifelong friends Meha Chiraya and Archita Fritz.
This podcast originated from a desire to share the stories of the extraordinary women in our lives, within our networks and communities, who are forging a path forward. Too often podcasts and interviews are focused on women at the top of the ‘proverbial’ success ladder. But, we are constantly amazed by women in our lives who are doing extraordinary things as they define success on their own terms. Our goal is simple -- elevate these stories so we can learn from and get inspired by each other.
Our friendship originated in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan in 2002. Meha, a ‘Yooper’ (refers to somebody born and raised in the UP) lived eighteen years of her life in Houghton, Michigan and met Archita who navigated life as a 17 year old after getting off a plane from Bangalore, India at Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan in the United States. Nearly two decades later, we continue to stay connected between our respective lives in Southern California and northern Germany.
The name of the podcast ‘The 906’ is the area code of where this friendship began and is an ode to the first sense of community we both experienced as young adults.
